NGT: any ESPN Insider who can access this ranking?

Producer : 11/25/2020 2:28 pm
espn did a ranking of the QBs from the recent draft class. I know they have Mahomes first, just wondering where they have Jones ranked vs Herbert, Tua, Lamar, etc..

I don't have an insider account, just curious about the ranking, not all the content.

He isn't on it

It also ranks 2021 prospects with active NFL QBs which is a bit odd.

that's odd.. you would think they would rank all the QBs from these classes, at least the ones that are starting in the NFL.. Jones, Baker, Minshew, Lock etc etc
I would assume Jones

Is only ahead of Rosen, Haskins and possibly Darnold. But I don’t know if it’s based on performance or how they looked as prospects coming out. If it’s the latter Jones could very well be last on the list, that is the perception around him.

Jones would be ahead of Lock, Minshew, Trubisky
Oh I was assuming just first round picks

I doubt he would be ranked ahead of Trubisky as a draft prospect though.

Perception among talkies and media members, sure. Perception in the real NFL world is quite different.

The recent influx of talent at the quarterback position has transformed passing games across the NFL. We've seen 15 quarterbacks drafted in the first round of the past four drafts, with 11 of them currently serving as the starter for their respective franchise. On top of that, there are somewhere in the neighborhood of five more QBs primed to be selected in Round 1 next April at the 2021 NFL draft.

With that in mind, Pro Football Focus set out to rank the top 10 quarterbacks who we'd want to lead a franchise -- based on talent alone, and not their respective contract situations -- from the 2017-2021 NFL draft classes.

Guarantee that two years ago, they would have had

Haskins on that list.

And in probably two years, at least one of Lawrence, Fields, and Zach Wilson will not be on such a list.
