It’s always a great joy to see that assholes face when the cows collapse!! It is my belief that if it wasn’t for that ridiculous Hershel Walker trade the Cows would b going on 30 yrs of winless football during the Jones era.
By winless I mean no Super Bowls & minimal playoff appearances!
I don’t think it was so much the Herschel trade as Jimmy Johnson was a damn good coach and they could keep all of the key players in their prime. After Jimmy left, Jerry sucked trying to mimic what worked because his talent evaluation skills are sh*t. It is his son, Stephen, that is responsible for bringing in more talent in recent years.

Huge mistake letting Jimmy Johnson go, imo. Too bad the egos clashed as they did. Well, too bad for the Cowboys, that is. Almost similar to Snyder letting Schottenheimer go. Another big mistake, imv
I would respect that team during the Landry years but Landry was replaced by a loud mouthed blowhard who showed no respect to Landry when he was let go .. Landry’s widow stated that Tom went back to being a Giants fan! So I guess I can’t help myself by admitting that I can’t stand Jones!! That Hershell trade brought them multiple low round picks to help build that team quickly! The Vikings GM at that time Mike Lynn was never heard from again for that debacle of a trade!
That Walker deal and the resulting maneuvering was much more complex
Than I had remembered. A bunch of picks going both ways. Players, most of whom were released by Dallas. Darrin Nelson, a decent RB, refusing to report to Dallas and being traded away by Dallas, then returning to Vikings a couple of years later as Walker’ backup.
Few of the draft picks were used to draft players directly. Most were used as chips when Dallas moved up or down in future drafts.
He allowed 20000+ people into his stadium during a pandemic wherein Texas is one of the largest hot spots in the nation, with North Texas being one of the hottest spots in Texas.

There will be deaths associated with that game.

Buck and Aikman kept saying how great it was and how they had the roof open for "safety".
Amen BB'56. It was a delight to watch the Cowboys get creamed
Jerry is a good guy. Met him once and he was fantastic.
I told him I was a Giants fan and we had like a 5 minute conversation about football etc. Really was awesome.
You shut your dirty mouth! I don’t care if Jerruh cured Covid and paid for the doses to be distributed to orphans personally. He is not a good guy or he would not own the Cowboys. That’s a disqualifying event. (There’s actual reasons I don’t like him too, but they’re another thread.)

both leveraged the Walker trade and had a great coach. The trade accelerated the ability to put pieces in place.
When Jimmy wrote a book, I was shocked (!) to see Parcells wrote the introduction. Tuna said he knew Jimmy was a formidable opponent because he could see he had a coherent strategy/approach, and the capacity to build a team that could execute it.
Jerruh really seemed to think the players were so good anyone could win with them. Was true while the core Jimmy trained remained. After that, they’ve entered a long, dark time I like to call “these great years that Dallas flounders around.”

The Cowboys have been fielding much better teams than the Giants have over the past several years. He built an awesome stadium as well. Hard for Giants fans to pick on him.

Very few if any, knock him for his business acumen. That said, his son Stephen gets most, if not all of the credit for building their team lately..
People who live in glass houses shouldn't throw stones
Dallas was competitive the entire time Garrett was there while we were the worst team in football. We too have an asshole for an owner and a dinosaur for a GM. Its true that Jerry made a horrible mistake hiring McCarthy, but I'm not going to pat myself on the back because they melted down on national TV. I'm not ready to celebrate because the Giants finally played one game of inspired football last week after years of suckitude.
But the few guys here who can't even take any pleasure in seeing teams like the Cowboys lose (on Thanksgiving, no less!) just because the Giants aren't any better themselves, well, you really take it to another level. :-)

Agreed Brother!

If you’re going to comment on our owner and GM, let’s also throw in acknowledgement that some of our fans are total dickheads too, like the guy you see in the mirror everyday.

There will be deaths associated with that game.
Irresponsible to write something like this, you have no insight as to the mitigation in that stadium.
Yes it’s great to see Dallas loosing but I don’t really care about Jerruh it’s the Cowboys I hate before and after him. Consider that the talent base for Dallas has been devastated this year the injury list is just too long, however I would take his roster in a heartbeat over the Giants for sure.

Sorry Joe, I’m just doing the math. I hope you’d agree that the irresponsible thing is to gather many thousands of people together using shared bathrooms and stairwells during a pandemic surge.
Saying people are going to die because of the game is offensive. You have no idea what s going to happen.
I mean you can consider it offensive, but it's still true. Just like any other activity outside of strict isolation could say the same. The question is what is and what isn't worth it. Not sure what's offensive about the statement honestly.

Kind of like the dyslexic atheist insomniac, who would lay awake at night wondering if there was a Dog?
I’ll bet you’re a blast at parties.
I think I’ll continue to enjoy the hell out of Dallas losing each and every time. Regardless of what some dude named Hilary thinks.

Jerry Jones’ face after a loss is funny even if the Giants are winless. The two have nothing to do with each other.

Sheese...we can't have fun! No fun allowed!
