Texans to cut WR Kenny Stills

is we'd have to pay him about 2.5 million. Is it worth that? I'd lean yes considering where we are at in the hunt. Unlike some here, I think playoff experience is extremely valuable, and would be tremendous for DJ to have a game under his belt before we are a real contender.

He's been decent when healthy, but he's a better player than Tate at this point, and this team is cooked as far as beating anyone good if one of our WR/Engram go down again. The contract gives me pause though.

Texans have Fuller, Cooks, and Cobb as there too 3 and Stills and Keke Coutee are damn near the same type of player only Coutee is younger, they don’t have a need for him.

Well to be fair, that's why they are cutting him. They are out, the money is all in salary, and he's in contract year. I guess they plan to be big spenders in FA next year.

I don't think anyone can say he isn't good. He produces when he plays but he's not the type of player we need. We need reliable players. I agree with posters who feel we can address WR in the draft but we have to understand that doing so could take time to develop. I wouldn't be opposed to a draft pick and a vet at WR IF, and this is a big if, the price is right in FA. This offseason could yield some great bargains.

Agree, no matter what Stills cost's, he's not worth it.. Let's see what we have in Mack and Pettis.

Pettis showed some flash from time to time in SF(?) but seemed to be held back a bit by injuries and shortened his field time/snap count if my memory is still intact.

He feels like he's on the same path our own E. Engram is going through with his missed games in the past due to injury and lack of focus or whatever EE does at times. They have the same disease. (Though EE has held up well this season from what we know)

Slayton and Pettis can get behind the defense.

get behind a defense, the Giants will look to add another big, physical receiver who gobbles up 50/50 balls.

They have a guy that has interested them for 2 years on IR, David Sills. He's 6'3", solidly built, and has good hands and a large catch radius.

He's more likely to help the WR corps going forward than Kenny Stills, IMO.

Disclsimer, I really liked Sills in his draft class, and am irrationally holding out hope he turns into a solid possession WR.
