Could the Giants reprise the three safety look ? .....

From a decade ago (Kenny Phillips, Antrel Rolle, Deon Grant)

With Peppers, McKinney, Ryan ?

(Ryan is presently playing at near Pro Bowl level, Peppers, even better than in college and McKinney is the ultimate ballhawk/thumper)

Helps fix the inability to play man-to-man and shores up the L.O.S. presence.

Albeit with Love, Ryan and Peppers. It's essentially a staple of all NFL defenses, and has been for a decade.

but I expect to see more of it. We will likely see Peppers, McKinney, Ryan, and Love on the field together frequently. Ryan will probably see more time at CB which would fill a huge hole opposite Bradberry. Holmes has struggled at times in the slot but he's improving.

Needless to say it really sucks that Sam Beal opted out.
The three safety look was always a misnomer.

From what I remember they were essentially playing Phillips and Rolle over the top with Grant as the de facto rolled up safety, occasionaly bringing another guy down with him when they wanted to play 1 high.

I expect we'll see lots of 3 safeties on the field once McKinney gets into game shape, with a slight difference in how they approach it. I'd imagine we see Peppers playing as the second ILB on passing downs. That's how I'd approach it at least. I fully expect them to at least try it to see how Peppers adapts, and under this coaching staff I have confidence for them to make the obvious - not - so obvious moves from the outside looking in.
Thank you, Zeke ...

Things are looking up. The big surprise for me is Yiadom, he's not a game=changer, but he is a seasoned pro that knows what he's doing [never peaks back at the QB, just puts his head down and reacts to the receiver's eyes and hands).

I like Holmes a lot, just needs to play more and continue to receive good coaching. What really like best is his "DK Metcalf mentality" ....

seems like a bold statement to make. don't get me wrong I hope you're right, but isn't it more likely any experience McKinney gets down the stretch is a bonus for the future vs him being an integral part of the defense with his inexperience, coming off a major injury as a rookie who had a modified off-season to begin with?
It will be difficult for McKinney to contribute this year ....

Not at that level, but the Kenny Easley/Ronnie Lot type in the future
3 Safeties are the new NFL base Defense

The NFL has been a copy cat league forever, and the three safety package has been a staple in many coordinators packages.
I don't think we will see that much of changes in our defense of systems, because Love has been feature in that 3 safety look already. I believe McKinney will be upgrade over Love as a play maker. Therefore our Giants Defense just got better.
