Washington skews things a bit because Haskins was forced on Rivera until it was obvious that he was not an NFL QB. Alex Smith or Kyle Allen would have been the starter Week 1 had Rivera had his choice.

And thought they were well prepared but many times I expected a win they would play down to a bad team and lose. I would always think they would win but not expect it.

The one exception was the 2008-9 seasn where I really was expecting to win every game.

This year, despite our record, I expect to be in every game despite the opponent. This game I expect to win. I really hope I am not let down, but I have a growing faith in how this coaching staff focuses the team and has a great game plan each week. They don’t always have the players to keep it up for a full 60, but the team has a confidence building.

I would not under estimate the importance of confidence and cohesiveness for a team.

Think that the Giants should win. Hope that the Giants do win. But after years of PTSD from this team, I am trying to prepare for anything. I cannot remember the last time when the Giants actually dominated a game and won big. Never won in Cincy--it's time.

This is pointless by ESPN to point out. Trubisky was their starting QB at that point. Also Alex Smith is better than either Haskins or Kyle Allen. That’s three of the “backups” the Giants have faced according to ESPN.

Woke up early -- actually was bummed, because I was hoping to sleep in so I wouldn't have so much time before games.

I know this season started like crap and 3-7 isn't usually the type of record to fire me up as a fan.

However, I've just been starved for a playoff race -- it's sucked being in totally meaningless games for the last half of what seems live every season. Aside from Macadoo's first year it's been since 2013 or so since we've been able to really look at the playoffs this late in the year.

It's just a great feeling -- not confusing that with the idea that this team is a world-beater, but man -- I'm a fan and in this crappy year of 2020 particularly, taking the East - -whether it's at 9-7 or 5-11 is fucking great.

Let's blow the doors off this Bengals team. They are in disarray and lost their one ray of hope. Feels like the Giants -- even with TC at the helm -- have often played down to their competition.

I think this stops with Joe Judge. It's time to pistol whip a team that is on the ropes!

and Im not even talking about the division being up for grabs. A lot of us have bought into the idea that we're in the midst of a bonafide turnaround. Theres real optimism there. A loss today wouldn't necessarily mean thats wrong, but it would certainly feel like a step back and indicate we're not as far along as we'd hoped based on the last few weeks. On the other hand, a comfortable win, backup QB or not, would really kick the optimism into high gear.

but I sometimes really wonder are we being too optimistic that any game is a gimme game with our team. I mean, if we were to lose, the playoffs would not be a a realistic shot anyway, but it still frightens me that I think there is no way we can lose this game.

Giants activated Xavier McKinney for today's game.

In the past even against teams that they should beat there was always a doubt. But here we are at 3-7 and I’ve rarely been so confident. Now, a lot of that has to do with how bad Cincy is. Even with Burrow they were terrible. But it’s more than that. I’m confident Judge will get the Giants to play up to their abilities. That’s more than enough against Cincy.

In the past the Giants have allowed back up QBs to look like the next coming of Johnny Unitas! This ends today! Go Big Blue!!

he played 50% of the snaps vs the Eagles. He didnt play the edge well and a lot of those runs outside were on him.

Sheard will probably start, but hopefully we get Brown/Coughlin more snaps as well. We need those two young guys to get more dyamic on the Edge. Interesting move from Judge/Graham.

be stunned if we blow out the Bengals, especially in their place. I'm just hoping for a win. Cincinnati could easily beat us. We're improving, but still aren't very good, especially on offense.

Jackson Barton or kick out Gates to RT and move Fleming to left and play Pulley at C? That will be interesting.

Thin at TE as well, an injury there could be bad.

Brandon WIlliams and Madre Harper are active and are the back CB, could Love/Ryan play more CB instead of S in case of injury with McKinney back at S.

Still think the Giants need Ryan Lewis/Colbert back soon for depth.

Inactive for the Giants are K Ryan Santoso, LB T.J. Brunson, S Montre Hartage, OL Kyle Murphy, DL RJ McIntosh and OLB Trent Harris.

If/When Freeman is back id love to see Lewis inactive, would love a three headed RB monster if this OL continues to come together.

No juice at KR, no juice on those small screen/dump offs cant make anymore miss. Gets bulled over in pass protection. No juice running the football, fumbled once too.

Wouldnt mind Freeman getting his snaps. Would need to replace Lewis at KR. Lewis does a solid job knowing his assignments, veteran presence/leadership, and decent route runner out of the backfield like that play down the sideline. Im sure judge values that.

play action and zone reads will be a big part of the offense today as a result. I think they will be loading up to stop the run.

Interested to see what that means for the play script with the run early, if true.
