This was the type of character win that can propel a team on a winning streak. To lose DJ on the road and still win against a tough team is something the Giants teams of the past 4-5 years would never do.
Many positives to take away from the game but this team is building something special for sure. If we're playing so well without much talent, imagine when we start hitting on some draft picks/FA signings?
For only the 2nd time since Hurricane Sandy, there's meaningful football in December. Season is a success regardless of what happens from here on out.
But they are beating the bad teams and that is improvement.
I give a lot of credit to Judge and his staff for doing a really good job.
This team got it done.
I don't know what the statement is. We didn't learn anything about the team that we didn't already know. Unless it's that Colt McCoy probably isn't going to lead us to a division title.
A win is a win. This was the game where you lose a game due to special teams. We overcame that and that was about the only thing you can say about this game.
Need to play (a lot) better next week.
5 games left in the 2020 season and The Giants are in 1st place and control their destiny. Fuck their record. 0-0.
Let's go!
Cool.
And now Jones is hurt? Enjoy 1st place for this week, because it SURE as hell aint lasting very long.
We’ve had one of the best ST units in the league this year. Everyone has a bad game at some point.
That’s just it, the giants CAN and HAVE played better than they showed today. And yes, they need to play better next week and behind. But that’s the beauty of sports, you hold on and win today and regroup next week and try and play better.
You’re not going to bring your A game every week. Some times you give up a KR TD or a fake punt or lose your qb midway through the game or suffer a bad turnover when driving. The key is the win despite that. Live to fight another day. The giants did. No one gives a fuck how ugly the wins looked when you’re playing big games in December of January.
Remember that 16-10 win against the winless lions back in 2007? Or that ugly win against these same bengals in 1997? Nope.
Win. Reset. Play again. Hope to win. It ain’t a beauty contest.
PS since when is a great defensive performance not pretty? Speak for yourselves I fucking loved this game.
However...have you watched this organization the last 4 years? Can you not recognize that this has typically been the kind of game they lose? If you absolutely gotta bitch and moan about something go watch some cable news bullshit. Otherwise enjoy the first full month without a loss that this team has experienced in nigh on half a decade.
We’re we? It was 13-10 when Jones got hurt and we couldn’t finish drives despite dominating time of possession and yardage.
They laid a turd from the the get go and pulled out a win. Nothing wrong with being honest.
Eric, what about all the "learning how to win" stuff?? Didn't they show that today? They needed to close out a game and they DID IT!
Its not that you're a "hater". There are plenty of areas to level criticism at this team. But Jones has been very, very good the past few weeks, including today. You're completely inflexible in your opinion, and so you filter evidence as to only reinforce it. Rather than objectively take in information and allow it to inform your views.
Its kinda sad, really...59 years and you still dont know what you're watching.
A win is a win is a win ..... for this team. I will take them anyway they come. Ugly, Beautiful, Nail biter, etc ....
1st Place .... yeah baby.
The positive differences in this team from the past several years is so obvious, don’t understand why so many refused to enjoy it.

People need to manage their expectations better.....Hard to believe but I think some here actually felt we could not lose this game with Burrow out and thus were angry at us barely squeaking by.
In week 12 of the shittiest of shit years. We will have meaningful football the rest of the way. A season where every game may end up mattering.
This was an ugly win, off a bye, on the road, after a couple weeks of in-house drama plus a coaching change. This was an important win in terms of the development of the program. Maybe not a “Statement Win” as is usually the idea, but for the org, it kinda is. And for Judge, it kinda is.
That said, if we lost the QB, that’s prob the end. In other news, we see how important DJ is to this team.
Defense made enough plays to beat a bad team. Not really a statement game. Beat Seattle next week and let’s talk. IMHO
I dont think it says much of anything. Just a game within a standard deviation of their current typical play norm...average.
Better than bad teams and worse than good teams.
About what you would expect. A team improving compared to past years. A team with a long way to go who has a tough time winning if it makes mistakes
Also, just because a team has a ranking doesn't mean they always play to that ranking whether a good or not so good ranking.
