After their humiliating loss Thursday most fans on this fan website I was browsing seem to be looking forward to the draft, especially seeing they may be picking top 5. (Sounds like us the past 4 years.)
Jets-0 wins
Jax-1
Cinci..2
Dallas, chargers, Eagles, ...3 wins
Houston, Denver, Wash, Giants, Detroit, Atl, Carolina, SF.......4 wins
What caught my eye was a good many are okay with picking up a qb and not having to worry about Dak’s injury and contract. Although, a good bit wanted to strengthen weak links, like secondary and DL.
I agree.....I’m sure he is regretting holding out now. I’m not sure he will be 100% at start of training camp. I agree with you....you can save a lot of cap space by ditching Dak and picking up a guy who can be just as good if not better.
I feel bad for Dak. Not sure he’ll ever get an offer like that again. He took bad advice.
The pretty much rolled the dice that QBs generally have a miniscule percentage of a catastrophic injury happening. For a guy that wasn't making any money outside his endorsements, he should have taken it when offered. They sticking point was reasonable though, they wanted a 4 year deal, which would have been very unusual for any team and especially Dallas, because they favor signing to their guys for very long contracts. They wanted to do that for the renegotiated CBA that year. Seems foolish now, and just another proof point, in the NFL, you gotta get paid when you can more times than not.

Dak and his agents are beyond dumb. They were arguing over a couple of mil a year and had this ego of reaching 40 mil per year. Dallas 100% should look at the QBs in the draft.

Cowgirls wanted a 5 year deal (cap reasons), Dak held tough for a 4 year deal (renegotiate after 3). Dak had never been hurt...understandable he'd bet on himself. $30 mil this year and tons of money in endorsements rolling in. Not to mention, the Red Rocket has made him more valuable.
The more interesting question down here is what will he do with his head coach???
The 2021 draft will be real interesting for the Cowboys: OL,DL and secondary players.

Do you think Jerry will cut McCarthy after one year, even knowing this year was different with no preseason and an entire new coaching staff? I think if he does that he is showing the world that he is an idiot and a bumbling fool.
We have struggled for too long. Lets make the next decade a ten year stretch of success!
