Fackrell is no world beater, but he is the best of a bunch of average options. It's a nice story but the less Niko Lalos we see the better off we'll be.
Thought it was interesting that Lalos was activated over Trent Harris.

Don’t be so pessimistic ... Facjrell is an asset but go back and watch the plays Lalos makes in the game ... on his interception he was actually rushing the passer on the left side of the defense and came back across while the ball was in the air to make the catch. He also had great coverage on the fumble Ryan caused. Also, Carter Coughlin had good pressure and helped cause the Allen fumble at the end. The plays are on BBV if you want to watch them in slo mo.
along with Cam Brown. Man are we inexperienced on the Edge!
Ya ... the thought of these guys looking across at Russell Wilson next week is not a warm fuzzy, but think of the experience they’ll get that will help for the next weeks.
Fackrell has been a really valuable piece to this D,
but lets not pretend his ansence is like having to go without LT or Carl Banks... Although maybe it is a little, given the replacements for LT and Banks were Headen and Hunt. Time for Brown, Coughlin, Lalos, and Harris to step up into their roles.
BTW don't undersell what McKinney getting minutes for Peppers on the back end might bring to the front 7, because that frees up Peppers to play a role like a smaller, more athletic version of Fackrell's role.
While not remotely a true EDGE player, Peppers functions at a high level as a wildcard member of the D front 7, a very high level IMHO.
hate to see so many injuries at 1 position, but I don't think he's
is not that important. He rarely gets pressure on the QB. Coughlin and Brown are much better getting to the QB.
Ebner may be more important, but again he is a replaceable part.
Frackrell: 3 sacks | 13 pressures | 2 PDs
Coughlin + Brown: 1 sack | 3 pressure | 0 PDs
Frackrell has like 8 times the snaps of the other 2 combined. But it's pretty flimsy to say they are "much better" when they've combined for 70 snaps and minimal production.
I'm assuming Coughlin gets the starts -- we'll get a better sense if he's much better soon.

Where we will miss Frackrell is setting the edge and ability to play coverage and play inside outside at LB....versatility.
With CLE/SEA coming up those are heavy run teams.
Mayo was playing some edge in run downs. They will need a group effort to replace Frackrell.
They do have Trent Harris as well who was inactive who i imagine will get bought back.
Kaden Smith should return from the Covid list and present an upgrade to Toilo at TE
Matt Peart should also return and perhaps steal some snaps from Flemming
Pettis might be ready to go and be an upgrade at Pr in lieu of Peppers. He might also present as a wr speed option across from Slayton on a few snaps.
Could Colbert get off the IR this week to replace Ebner?
Would it be helpful to have Ryan Lewis cb return this week against the vaunted Seahawk passing attack?

Exactly. I cannot remember the last time Fackrell made a play. Carter and Coughlin really only started playing in the Philly game?
Hey, I maybe wrong, but while Fackrell has been solid, he has not been dynamic.
