so who is this Jabaal Sheard?

It's really noticable how many players are actually getting on the field, but this guy was obviously huge yesterday with the strip sack at the end of the game.

Has he played a bunch before yesterday?

He's a veteran

who's best days are way behind him but yesterday he had his first good game for the Giants. He has been playing quite a bit since the Giants signed him.

He was a very good player for several seasons but he hasn't been very good the past two years.
2nd round pick of the Browns in 2011 out of Pittsburgh.

Also played for the Patriots, Lions, and Jaguars.

31 years old, 6’3”, 265 pounds. Very good player. Underrated by casual fans.

The Giants signed him off the Jaguars practice squad on October 20. He has seen increased playing time every week, especially since the injuries to Carter, Ximenes, and now Fackrell.
thanks fellas...

...a simple Google of his name would have told me he's a vet, but I was hoping for a better feel good story!!!
I don't know but

he made a really nice play at the end of the Cincy game.
Sheard Better at Than Fackrell

Not a fan of Fackrell. From what I’ve seen of Sheard, he brings more than Fackrell.
Has a history with the coaches

Fighting injury the past few years.

I think....he can have a role on this team...as long as they limit snaps....has decent pass rush.

I too think Fackrell is massively overrated around here. He is slow in coverage and I have seen him take horrendous angles to the ballcarrier multiple times. Nice back up, but very slow and not very instinctive in coverage at all.

They also play largely different positions, Sheard is much more hand in the dirt. Fackrel much more stand up guy. Fackrell better in covering short zone, Sheard is better at setting an edge/covering flat.
He’s put together

a decent resume for himself in this league over the years. I was pleasantly surprised to see we added him to our roster so late in the season.
He hadn't done

a thing all season until that one play. Good for him to get the sack, but the guy is not a good player.
