this list is based on projected SOS using all 16 opponents. It is not based on "if the season ended today..."

there were arguments about Trevor Lawrence. Today they sit atop the division, 3 games under .500. I know its been said but damn, what a year. It could be the plot from an episode of the original Twilight Zone that was rejected for being too dark and bizarre.

Relative to the other 4-7 teams if we don’t win the division? Ie the +/- in SOS?

WAS (4) i.e. NYG 4 games stronger than WAS in projected SOS
DET (-3)
ATL (-8)
HOU (-10.5)
DEN (-13.5) i.e. NYG 13.5 games weaker than DEN in projected SOS

Two things come to mind:

Picking 19th or later is a good thing, that’s obvious. Too, by picking in that range, we won’t experience a 2 year implosion with the “wrong” top 3-5 pick. At 19 or higher, we’ll have the usual smattering of dissent, but no meltdowns..

At at 19 or lower, we’ll still get

Dallas would pick at #4 given their current 3-8 record.
Philly would pick at #6 given their current 3-7-1 record.
Washington would pick at #8 given their current 4-7 record. (Of the five teams at 4-7, Washington has the weakest strength of schedule.)
Giants are also at 4-7, but because they would make the playoffs if the season ended today they would fall to #19 in First Round.
