it's one thing to play better, but as Skinner shows, he's not just handling his assigment, he's actively helping out Lemieux and Zeitler. He clears his block, then looks around for who needs help. It's outstanding.
to block well consistently, we'll really have something.
Where have you gone Mark Bavaro, Giants Nation turns its missed block eyes to you?
:-)
What a great thing that we're now looking at the TEs to perform their blocking assignments and not worrying about OL. What a difference! Got to give DG his due here, he finally did it.
Could we be seeing the birth of a star in Nick Gates ? Just seeing him read and redirect his opponent's energy to destroy his balance then slam him to the ground is a thing of beauty.
It's not necessarily the stronger man that wins, but often the one with the most perfect base, balance, knowledge and reactions that succeeds.
He looks like a Aikido aficionado. I wonder if he has any martial arts training.

If you study Tomlinson his wrestling background sings through his excellent use of leverage.
We might be seeing the effect, so far as the improving interior OL play goes, of what our OL has to face in hard practice every week going up against Lawrence, Tomlinson and Williams in practice reps.
Mark Bavaro once said that blocking any LB, DE or Edge player of any opponent on game day wasn't as difficult as blocking Carl Banks (or LT) in practice.
Peart is not going to come off the COVID list and start over Fleming. We are all pissed at Fleming's bad plays but overall the OL is functioning well.
Judge has been very careful about not throwing guys into permanent action coming back from time off.
If Peart hasn't leap-frogged Fleming before going on the COVID list, he isn't going to magically be inserted into the starting lineup immediately upon returning. He'll have to go back to his JUMBO TE role and start getting his feet wet with rotational reps again.

I get what you're saying, but I'd be leery of making assumptions about players on or coming off the Covid list. A positive test indicating infection can force a player's isolation onto Covid protocol, even if that player has zero signs of being affected by the virus himself.
Do we know if Peart got sick at all? Or if merely he tested positive?
So far as the player's readiness to return to action in a larger role, I think that would be a key consideration.
They are removed from the team and unable to practice.
They aren't going to leap-frog someone on the depth chart after missing time. Look at Hernandez, he's being worked back slowly. I just think the "replace Fleming with Peart now" stuff reeks of Madden.
I remember reading that once they're on COVID protocol
“Andrew Thomas was basically flawless”
Hopefully Peart gets the majority of the RT snaps versus Seattle.
The OL is pointing up every week. Love it!!!

Peart should add on that, big time, especially once he grows into his frames full potentiel strength and mass.

These reports by Skinner are great. SO informative. Thanks for posting Trainmaster.

I know they can't work out with the team, but are they really prohibited from working out on their own?
FWIW, it may not qualify as "working out", but Gano had a kicking net set up in his quarantine hotel room to stay sharp.
