It will not be easy, but with this coaching staff I have some faith that it is a potential. This goes to the thought of tell me what you can do and not what you cannot. Look for the game plan--a game plan with a whole week to prepare--and plays to look very different for Colt then Jones.
He will be set up to succeed, manage the game, attack Seattle's weakness with what ever his strength is.
I think the defense can hold up, special teams will rebound and we will have some success with our power game against Seattle's defense. It will not be easy, but being up in New England I watched the Pats win games with Brady out. Now I understand that, the rest of the team is not nearly as good as those Patriots teams were. However, there is a similar approach and I think having this coaching staff mindset will give us a chance.
That all being said, what does Colt do well. What Does he do well? I know it wasn't very clear from him coming in during last game.
We can't win if its a shootout
We can't win if its a shootout
totally agree. Gallman will be a huge factor in this game, as will Dion Lewis and his ability to catch passes out of the backfield. Short passes, effective running the ball, equating to long drives hoping to wear down the Seattle defense while keeping Wilson, Metcalf and their explosive offense off the field. Only way to win this game
Hopefully he will be better with a full week of prep.
We really have no idea what he can do.
Don't let seattle hit on big plays and keep everything in front of you.
Need to slow this game down.
Is it possible yes probable no.

1) All the above, and Bradberry (and Yiadom?) having the games of their lives covering DK Metcalf.
2) Surprising and confusing Wilson with post snap adjustments in pass coverage.
3) Tae Crowder having a crazy good effort as ILB #2, because I just dont see Mayo or Downs getting it done. Maybe Peppers playing great as a box safety/ LB.
4) Especially #1 above.
If we can run the ball on Seattle, and thus control the clock/shorten the game/reduce the risk of turnovers, then we have a chance
I'm starting to feel it too.
But it is just as likely as anything that we go 1-4 on this last stretch.
And that's still okay if Jones et all continue to improve, gel together and play well.
We need to keep Wilson off the field and shorten the game to win. That is certainly possible given that Seattle's defense is the worst in the league. But they will almost certainly be stacking the LOS to test our still young and inexperience OL, and to make McCoy beat them through the air. McCoy is also throwing to an average group of WRs and Engram.
I'd come out throwing some short passes to try and get them to back off the LOS, and to hopefully prevent McCoy from being in a lot of second and third and long situations.
We also need to play mistake free football. No turnovers or ST gaffes like last week.
Wilson is a different animal. A much different animal.
Bingo. McCoy is going to have to hit some big throws because the Seahawks aren't going to let the Giants line up and run the ball.
Everyone saying Seattle's defense stinks hasn't really been paying attention for the last few weeks. They did a nice job controlling Kyler Murray two weeks ago (6.4 Y/A, only 15 rushing yards) and dominated the Eagles. In the last two weeks they've allowed a total of 70 yards by RBs (22 att, 3.14 AVG).

Difficult to win. Not impossible.
Colt McCoy Washington highlights - ( New Window )
Yeah, good luck with that.
Without him it won’t be.
With Colt - I think Garrett gets to runs the same offense we was trying to run before he finally opened the playbook up for DJ.
Short throws, and do everything possible to make it 3rd and short and try to get long sustained drives. I hated this style with DJ and was my biggest complaint with Garrett but with Colt it is exactly what you need to do. We will run on almost every 2nd down to try to get 3rd and couple, and we will shoot for the sticks.
Yes our WR get terrible separation but our WR are built for short passing game, they are going to have step it up on YAC.
If our defense does not show up, then it would not have mattered all that much. The major loss here is we have no shot of going up early on them and trying to hold a lead like we might have with DJ.
We need to hold them then we need to hold onto the ball.
- Seattle's not blowing people out either...of their 8 wins I think only 2 have been by double digits (10 & 13). Conversely, of the Giants' 7 losses only 2 have been by double digits (10 & 27).
- Seattle's defense is no longer the sieve that it was earlier, but that doesn't figure to matter much with McCoy at QB.
- To my eyes the biggest difference between this Giants team and previous years has been the approach to rushing the QB. You don't see defensive linemen swimming and trying to get upfield around the edges; the focus seems to be on gap integrity and collapsing the pocket. The result is mobile QBs aren't exposing us the way they used to. This is the most glaring New England influence, IMO. They could cause some issues for Wilson.
- I don't see the Giants winning this one, but they aren't a great matchup for Seattle either. 24-17 Seattle feels about right; an upset isn't out of the question if they can generate a big special teams play or switch the field with a turnover.
Rosters are composed of the best football players in the world.
Yes some teams are better, that s why they are favored to win.
But even the best team can lose to the worst team, it s not a 100% win ratio.
It s why they play the game.
Establishing the run game is going to be critical, and give Colt some time, so the OL is going to have to keep up its good play of late. It helps that SEA has little pass rush.
This game is winnable. Let's hope Graham has a good game plan for keeping Russell under wraps.
can we score 27 points with Colt leading the way? I don’t think so, but my opinion means nothing, and I would love for him to prove me wrong. I’m pretty sure he will have a Very conservative game plan so Seattle will probably be loading up to stop the run. Can we win with Colt having to air it out? I don’t see how we can, and what if we get down early? Can we comeback from down 10-14 points? Again, I don’t think so, so I hope we don’t get down like that.
In conclusion...if the defense rises up to hold them to 20 and less, we have a decent chance. But my prediction is we score 13- 19 points with Colt under center.
This is a reminder that McCoy’s style is pretty similar to Jones’. Just not as big and not as strong, but he does have the experience to do some things that Jones hasn’t learned to do yet.
Hope winning is one of them.
Not sure I believed it either—just hoped it. I was wrong about special teams rebounding though.
