To be honest. Love the progress this team has made but the Jones injury and Murderers Row of a schedule is gonna make for really, really tough sledding.

Alex Smith is probably the best active QB in the division right now and Washington’s Dline is the most elite unit in the division.

It’s hard for me to envision the Giants getting to 7 wins. 6 might be a stretch as well without a healthy Jones.

And I am pulling for the no-names to win the division. Let me explain why.

The Iggles and the Cowflops are both in turmoil, while the ex-deadskins and the G-men are teams on the rise, so one of the latter will win this historically bad division and make the playoffs.

It is important to recognize that none of these 4 teams are anywhere near a serious SB contender at this point, so winning the division amounts to shooting yourself in the foot.

And it is also important to note that Championship teams are largely built through the draft, not veteran free agency and/or trades.

Now, with Jones out for a while, the GIANTS chances of winning the division have taken a huge hit. Long term, that might be a good thing for them.

Not that I wanted them to win it anyway because winning it just means a much lower draft slot following a quick exit from the playoffs. They need many more good players, and it's always better to pick in a higher slot than a lower one. And there will likely be a difference of ten draft positions or maybe more between the winner of this sorry-ass excuse for a division and the runner-up. That could be the difference between a great player and a good one with that first pick and the pick in every round after that.

So let the nameless ones win the division. Long term it's the best outcome for the G-men.

I feel like I got brain freeze from reading that statement, I can't believe that's the truth. Good for Alex Smith after what he went through but damn this division is an absolute mess.

I think the Skins probably have the best odds as well due to the remaining schedules, but I think the Giants are the best team in the division at the moment so it'll come down to the Giants' ability to upset a couple of good teams at the end of the season.

I think the Giants take it. Beat the Browns and Cowboys.

WFT has a big advantage in schedule and their D is peaking.

Of course that's not reality unfortunately. Do like to read "lean on the defense and balance it provides" With our defense and DC we can line up against anyone in the league and potentially keep them under 20 points outside Chiefs. It's a matchup league and our defense is very well balanced with a smart DC that can change gameplans week to week. On the flip side of that, Todd Bowles is buttfucking his offense by being overly aggresive in the beginning of games forcing games onto the shoulder of Tommy Foxboro.

and that is why they play the games!

Staying optimistic since until a final result on Sunday, the Giants control their own destiny. That is all I could have asked for as of December 2020, especially after our start to the season.

Giants have a backup.

I understand what you are saying but to root against the Giants winning the division is just stupid. The goal is not to accumulate high draft picks but to win games.

Getting to the playoffs would be a great experience for this team and a huge confidence builder. Were you rooting against the Giants making the playoffs in 2007 or 2011? Should they have tanked the rest of the season when Simms went down in 2000?

My advice is to enjoy the meaningful games. Root for victory and draft the best players we can when it is our turn to pick. IMO - The objective is not Superbowl win or #1 pick. It is to have the best season possible every year.

You think about the future when you are building your roster - not when you are playing the games. Miami is a perfect example.

So the worst outcome a team can have is winning the Super Bowl because then they pick last (other than the supplementary picks) in every round????

And to think I celebrated when they won the 4 Super Bowls.

I disagree, the experience that this young team would gain from playing a Playoff game would be invaluable for the future. Much more valuable than picking 10 spots earlier in the 1st round

over a home playoff game.

Anyway, Washington schedule is no cakewalk. Their "easy" games are San Francisco and Carolina. Two very capable teams who can easily beat WFT.

If Jones is back in 2 weeks or less I like our chances.

Comes from losing too much, high draft picks is the booby prize given to the team that loses the most its the fall back position, not what you cheer for or even hope for, we want to win now, not lose, are we losing Tom Brady on Super Bowl Sunday? How many points per game are we averaging? 40? How many TD passes is he averaging per game, is it up to a whopping 1 yet? How many other starting players are there? Maybe there are other players that may have a say.
