A 10-0 (now 11-0) team squeaked by a team with a backup QB

BestFeature : 12/2/2020 6:48 pm
Yes, I understand RG3 is a better QB and the Ravens are a better team overall but we also weren't 10-0 going into the game last week and Ben didn't get injured halfway through the game. Maybe this is a dated take but there were people very upset that we didn't blow Cincinnati out. This is the NFL let's just enjoy the win.

Savor any win in this league. They're hard to come by, unless you're playing the loser franchise that is our co-tenants.
Steelers and Ravens are #1 and #2 in defense
widmerseyebrow : 12/2/2020 6:52 pm : link
not to mention bitter division rivals. This was never going to be a blowout.

You can be happy that the Giants won and still be realistic about how good they actually are this year.
Ravens
Toth029 : 12/2/2020 6:59 pm : link
Were missing half their team.

It wasn't just a QB issue.
Steelers
dslayton86 : 12/2/2020 7:07 pm : link
look like they were sleepwalking through that game and already multiple post-game quotes about how not happy they are with their performance.

I believe this bodes really well for us as they probably go into Monday night vs. Skins much differently, won't take them lightly. Need them to come to play because think WFT is frisky, defense coming along.
This is a very weird game...

on a Wednesday at 3:30. So you just take the W and get ready for a quick turnaround against WFT.
I am thankful for the squeaker
Mike in NY : 12/2/2020 7:14 pm : link
As it allowed me to win in fantasy this week and clinch a bye. Also allows me to not have to root for my QB against Giants.
On another note, Rothlisberger missed

A wide open receiver in the endZone on the first drive, never saw him.

Had Daniel Jones done that, it would be proof that he just doesn’t have what it takes, games too fast for him.

Ben had a stellar game.

Threw 51 passes for a 5.5 ypa..

Wait. What? That game hasn't been pushed back? So the Steelers get penalized playing 5 days from now because of Baltimore's actions? WTF?
All day at work

I'd been looking forward to Wednesday football. I just check to see what time the game starts and...it's over?

What the F is this shit?

I only saw the last drive but looking at the stats you didn't miss much.
I count week 1 against

Then as one of the games we blew.

I think if we played them again....with a healthy Jones... we have a good shot.
You seriously don't see a difference between
Matt M. : 12/2/2020 9:27 pm : link
one of the top 5 teams in the league with a former starter filling in at QB vs. one of the worst 5 teams in the league with a practice squad player at QB?

On the flip side, you don't see the difference between a bottom third of the league team vs. another top 5 team in the league?

I'm merely saying this is an odd game, which it us based on the Wednesday time and all of the delays, and Pittsburgh should just be glad they got the W and move on to WFT.

Do you seriously not know how to read?
The team the ravens fielded today

would pick in the top 5 of the draft
I mean, come on guys, it's Steelers/Ravens
Leg of Theismann : 12/2/2020 11:32 pm : link
Any time you have 2 teams and 2 coaching staffs who know each other so well, you're going to get a close game (especially when both coaching staffs and talent evaluation staffs are so good). It's a huge division rivalry and both teams are fairly deep and well-coached relatively speaking. It's the same way games within the NFC East are rarely blowouts no matter how what each team's record is.

Cold-weather game in bad conditions. Not to mention, the Ravens needed a fluke missed tackle (when the Steelers had relaxed late in the 4th) just to make it a 5 point game. Steelers offense did not convert TDs, Ravens defense was fairly stingy in that sense. That kept Baltimore in the game somewhat, but I really don't think the outcome of the game was ever TRULY in doubt.
Sorry
Leg of Theismann : 12/2/2020 11:35 pm : link
I just said both teams' coaching staffs and talent evaluation staffs are great, then said "it's just like in the NFC East." Haha, that didn't come out exactly right. But yeah, point is, just like in the NFC East, intra-division rivalries are often very close because both teams know each other so well, know all of each others' tricks so to speak.

Are glad they weren’t playing KC. They’d have gotten their asses kicked.
The Ravens..
FatMan in Charlotte : 12/3/2020 7:20 am : link
are no longer a top 5 team. Right now, they are a fringe playoff team.

have literally mastered the short passing game. The way they can move down the field with quick angled throws and pick plays is very impressive.

They don't have to even run much to move the ball, but then Ben has enough experience to change things up and pop a nice run when the Defense gives it to him.

Tough to stop when they get into a groove and you give them 3, and sometimes 4, downs.

Yeah, Ben's a weak link. Been that way his whole career.
Can the Giants depend on the Hawks to drop

a thousand passes or Russell Wilson to match Ben with one of the worst red zone INTs of all time?

So they'd be competitive in the NFC East.
I'm not certain RGIII is better.
Section331 : 12/3/2020 12:41 pm : link
He was awful yesterday. He made some plays running the ball that McCoy obviously won't, but he was simply awful in the passing game. Less than 3 YPA, and showed horrible pocket awareness. He was sacked 3x and hit a bunch, but most of that was on his holding the ball too long.
The OP is sketchy
Thegratefulhead : 12/3/2020 1:26 pm : link
Not the poster, the post. The games do not relate in any shape or fashion. There is no connection.

The NY Giants need to beat decent teamS, plural, before we can even begin to make any claims about improvement.

4-12 is still on the table. I am CERTAIN that if we lose out, or only beat the Cowboys, the hope that we all have been feeling, will be ripped from our hearts. It will hurt. Just pause.
