But I'd it still is 90%+ about the money. These guys have a relatively short window to earn "mega bucks" and I'd guess he'd be hard pressed to turn down a much more lucrative offer if it comes from another team.
He already has a ring(s), right?
It would be great if he could stay in a 3 safety look. My guess is the Giants want to see what they have in McKinney over the next few games before they'd make any in season offer to Ryan.
Yup, and he spoke very openly about how great the Giants were to him and his family during the whole situation
Plus, he seems to have a good relationship with Judge, obviously they go back to New England. When he was mic’d up during one of the Skins games, you can hear him say “thanks for bringing me here” to Judge at the end of the game
Re-up Logan than LW. Core piece v guy playing for a contract. And there are viable alternatives at IDL. No way paying Leonard williams $50 million guaranteed ends up working out well
That despite ESPN/SI/NFL Network saying the guy wouldn't last because he was making players run laps in training camp, you're going to find that guys actually like playing for Judge and want to stay here. When there's mutual interest between player and team there is always a way to "make a contract work".
I'd double down on defensive players and say you'll find the same about Graham.

So the best player on the defense is in a contract year, and this is why the Giants shouldn’t sign him? Ok.
Curious do you know Williams personally. Do you have some inside info on his character that would support your narrative that he s playing for a contract and not because he s a hell of a competitor who cares about winning and his status in the game ?
want to be here and stay here. Giants are one of the better teams in terms of how they deal with players on and off the field. They err on the side of caution when it comes to injury, player well being and family. This isn't surprising news about Ryan, in the least.
Even the former NYG players that punched their ticket out of town inevitably end up coming home again and showing love for this franchise once they retire from the game.
I know they have been mired in slop up until this season and I do get frustrated with their patient and deliberate approach at times, but they Giants are one of the easier franchises to root for from a morals POV.

Also, he is probably looking to stay in one place for the rest of his career, and looking at state tax implications too.

Dawkins signed for about 8mil/yr. I would say this is the ceiling and if he signs for less than he is giving a discount because he wants to be here.

Malcolm Jenkins that is. Of the Eagles.

I wouldn’t mind him on a short term 1-2 year deal at most though. But he’ll probably get more somewhere else.

This. The story with his wife is important and he likes it here. But will be 30 at the start of the next season. Needs one more payday.
