in North Carolina on Direct TV. The Fox station was running a crawler saying Dish was going to dump them. There was another station (forgot which one, but not one of the big 3) with the same message about Dish.
with the new NFL contract coming up if the streaming channels like Prime and Hulu don't try to end up with their own games and the NFL dumps one of the networks.
high-speed internet will prevail except in rural areas
You’re probably right, but people shouldn’t be so excited about that. It may be cheaper, for now, but there are a lot of negatives to streaming as well. I’ve tried going to streaming services to save money but I never canceled DirecTv because I wanted to test the waters first. Ultimately I keep canceling the streaming services and keeping DTV. I’ll pay the extra. And if you think satellite and cable providers have issues with negotiations with the networks, wait until you have to deal with the streaming services. Maybe it will improve but I literally had no idea what channels I’d be getting on a weekly basis. Channels were coming and going like it was a game. The best one I found was PS Vue and they abruptly canceled service on us, which is another risk we will be dealing with on a regular basis

That's the way I feel. One would think with more advanced technology that quality would be better, but IMO a satellite dish trumps streaming every day of the week.
Seems like Dish has a lot of problems like this. Sounds like a good reason to avoid them.
