Does Peart start this weekend

CMicks3110 : 12/3/2020 7:21 pm
or at least get the majority of the snaps? I love seeing our line come together and think he could be the final and most important piece in taking our line to the next level. You think Judge pulls the trigger and benches Fleming?
it would be nice to see

fleming almost lost us the game.

Fleming was a disaster last weekend.
Usually, I’d say on the road in Seattle is a tough game
mfsd : 12/3/2020 7:27 pm : link
to give a rookie his first start. But Peart has already played a lot, their stadium isn’t full (although they’re still pumping fake crowd noise as always), and this team is showing it can get rookies ready to play

So, why not give Peart his shot?
Normally I'd Say Yes

But given he's coming of a COVID positive situation (right?) my guess is he'll be eased back in as Hernandez has been.

It's very iffy... I didn't hear any status on the extent of his symptoms, or any lingering health implications. There's a range of COVID illness from asymptomatic to dead.

Yes a wide range of effects from COVID but at minimum, he lost 1 1/2 weeks of practice.

I'd love to see him replace Fleming completely but unfortunately the illness will set him back. I was hoping the change would happen at the bye but then he got sick. The best I think we will see is him rotate but I don't think he is going to see anytime at LT anymore.
Fleming's costly mistakes would make it easier
CT Charlie : 12/3/2020 8:14 pm : link
to give Peart the start, but it won't happen post-Covid. And I wonder how much time we'll have the ball.
Let's see if Carlos Dunlap
ChicagoMarty : 12/3/2020 9:18 pm : link
is going to play.

Dunlap may be a bit much for Peart

Certainly want to work him in.

Would feel a lot better if he lines up against Dunlap's backup
With this rotation system,
81_Great_Dane : 12/3/2020 9:25 pm : link
"starter" means less than the snap count. Peart could come off the bench but play more snaps.
The coaches can’t be pleased with how Fleming
LBH15 : 12/3/2020 9:33 pm : link
played last week.

I think now in December, it’s time.

Dunlap is too much for Peart, what does that make him for Fleming?
I expect the rotation
Del Shofner : 12/3/2020 10:02 pm : link
at both guard and tackle.

There really hasn't been much of a rotation. The backup at OG and OT hasn't seen many snaps in this "rotation"
I think Fleming has
Gman11 : 12/4/2020 6:41 am : link
been Ok-ish in run blocking. Not so much pass blocking. I would think if McCoy gets the start they're going to be doing more running than usual. They'll probably stick with Fleming.
Imo no
Jim in Forest Hills : 12/4/2020 7:36 am : link
I like rotating him in. I think there will be serious growing pains if he goes full time.
I think he'll rotate. If he had the full bye week to prep
Victor in CT : 12/4/2020 7:40 am : link
I think he may have started last week. Too bad he got sick
Given his covid situation
JonC : 12/4/2020 8:54 am : link
I'd expect them to rotate him in as before.

Fleming is so mistake prone. It was his illegal shift penalty that cost us the TD in Dallas on the fake FG. And his holding penalty last week that negated a game clingching first down on that 3rd down pass to DIon Lewis last week. Would rather see Peart start for sure
Dunlap
ChicagoMarty : 12/4/2020 9:50 am : link
has not practiced yet this week so this issue might be moot.

Neither has Shell, Tre Flowers, Carlos Hyde, nor Homer.

Carson was listed as limited yesterday and sore.

Sounds like the Seahawks are a bit beat up

Timing seems good for the Jints to give the Hawks a run for their money
Throw him in and let him learn
averagejoe : 12/4/2020 9:54 am : link
Fleming cannot pass block. At all. He needs to go grab some bench.
Fleming almost
cjac : 12/4/2020 10:56 am : link
single handedly lost that game for us last week. While i feel like we arent winning this game either way, i'd like to see Peart get the majority of the snaps. he's probbably our future RT so get him as much experience as possible
I’m sure Fleming will start
Dave on the UWS : 12/4/2020 11:05 am : link
but Peart will play. If Gugs thinks he’s doing OK,I would not be surprised to see Peart get more and more of the snaps.
Peart won't start this week but I think he'll be active
SGMen : 12/4/2020 11:29 am : link
He is what, 23? If he had Covid he may not have even been symptomatic, hence he should be fine.

I'd love for us to have three strong rookies playing and starting down the last four games.

I had this game pegged as a loss because it is a long trip; however, Seattle is coming off a big Monday night wind so in a sense it is a short week for them. How "up" can they be to play us off this win?

If Seattle comes out flat and we can jump on them with a strong ground game and savvy passing from McCoy, perhaps we surprise?

I like the Bradberry matchup on DK in the sense that he is a bigger, more physical guy than Slayton for Eagles. We shall see....
for us
Ron Johnson : 12/4/2020 11:44 am : link
this week is about running the ball due to the need to help McCoy. Whichever tackle is the more effective run blocker will get more snaps, I think.
