The show just keeps getting better. A couple of things bothered me about this episode. But i thought i'd be the first to start a thread since i woke up at 5 and watched it because i couldn't get back to sleep.
that doesn’t end well for the protagonists, it was very satisfying. You have Boba Fett being a badass but also explaining more of his story and becoming a “good guy”, Dark Troopers in action, the Dark Saber, Grogu being more badass with his Force powers.
I presume that to watch the Mandalorian I must subscribe to the Disney
Boba Fett was badass and so is the sniper (forget her name). I had the same question about Madno's jetpack. Why didn't he grab it when the troopers first showed up.
Grogu seemed to be remembering his abilities and getting stronger. I guess we'll have to wait to see if he made contact with any Jedi. The going theory right now is that Ezra and Thrawn will turn up at the end of this season.
This was straight Star Wars porn. Show just keeps getting better and better. I look forward to these episodes the way I used to look forward to Giants games 20 years ago.
thanks cjac for starting this thread, let's keep the Star Wars mojo going on BBI!
This was the first episode where I thought the CGI really stood out in a bad way. I thought the dark troopers looked cartoonish, not realistic. Took me out of it a little bit. I thought the Dark Saber also did not look good up close.
And the daylight fight scenes in a desert, less places to hide, I felt like the budget was being stretched and they chose a locale that didn't really feel offworld. Nitpicky I know.
That being said, great to see Boba Fett again and to see him in action was fantastic. He was using Tuskan Raider weapons which was interesting. And didn't Cobb Vanth use the missile? Does Mando just stock them on the ship?
So now the child is taken and they are bringing back Bill Burr. Looks like Boba, Ming Na and now Gina Carano will help. Does he get Ahsoka on the team as well? The other Mandalorians who are searching for the Dark Saber? Will another Jedi (PLease Luke!) come for Grogu?
this series is so amazing ! but I thought this episode was not so amazing
the planet and episode had that original Star Trek series quality .. an empty place with a bunch of boulders and a bunch of fights
is that they are obviously really building up the relationship between Mando and Grogu. Like he is full on father figure at this point. He didn't even push back on Ahsoka when she reneged on him, he was like "I get to keep him a little longer? Ok"
But when you think about Star Wars lore and how the devout the Jedi were supposed to be, his attachment to Mando being so strong, feels like its trending to Grogu never becoming a Jedi.
make a cameo appearance? Ewan McGregor is already set to make the Kenobi series, which will start filming next month. It would make sense as a tie-in. McGregor already admitted to having "behind-the-scenes" knowledge of how the Mandalorian is created.
That Storm Trooper armor really didn’t offer much protection
This episode really solidified that theory.
The episode of Rebels I just watched last night also did just that. Captain Rex was saying how the Stormptrooper armor was crap and not up to the same standard as Clone armor.

And, I believe he was on set in full costume. It was supposedly PR for his show, but who knows?

Although, how would that work? His force ghost in the past was Alec Guinness.

Glad I’m not the only one to think that. Boba overshadowed the whole episode, but the CGI was pretty distracting. The poster that said it had a Star Trek feel had it spot on. It’s hard to even call this one a clunker because after was so awesome, but the CGI and the kidnapping seemed so anti climatic.

Yeah, a force ghost would have to be CGI'ed to make him older, which could still be cool. Maybe a training holocron that was "recorded" when Obi-wan was younger or some kind of force-induced flashback?
people complaining about the planet? There are hundreds of planets in SW's so what if one looks "Earthy", at least it isn't another snow or desert planet.
I believe that there is a 30 day free trial for Disney. If I go that route will I be able to watch the first 8(?) episodes of the series?
Thanks in advance.
You presume too much, unfortunately. Disney Plus has discontinued the free trial, probably to block the people who would sign up for a free 7 days to binge the season.
If you want to see it, you'll need to fork over the money for a month.

At that, I would wait until after this season is over so you can binge the entire series.
I got a free year through Verizon FiOS ad an existing custome. It is the only pre-k I can recall as an existing customer with them and I am taking full advantage. I dont know if it is still being offered. But, I got it only 1 or 2 months ago.
has me wishing they had put Favreau and Filoni in charge of the franchise when they bought LucasFilm. This series is setting up amazing stories that would have made a fantastic sequel trilogy. You know they would have had a synchronized story for a true trilogy instead of 3 movies loosely related by the same characters.
Lucas did him wrong, Filoni and company sets it straight.

He was killer in this episode---and dare I say it---more of a Mandalorian than Din Djarin himself.

Yes, you will have access to all the old episodes.

This is a tremendous call

Overall i'm less excited about the series overall and i'm tired of the pinball across the galaxy from episode to episode.

Whenever I feel the need to nitpick anything in this series I just think of the movies and my bearings are restored.

I already can't wait for Season 3.
An awful take that makes NO sense lol.
