I’m intrigued by this guy. All time NCAA punt return TD leader. Super talented, rangy, springy long strider, mid 2nd rounder in 2018 who has had some big games with the Niners (I think he has 8 career TDs in limited play). Has a reputation of being kind of an offbeat, surfer dude, and has seemed to have been in Shanahan’s doghouse for a while (with whispers of softness). But he always popped on the screen for me as a dangerous, slippery receiver.
I saw that he’s been activated this week. Maybe with a change of scenery we catch something good here. Finger crossed that he feels an urgency to compete now that his career has been upended.
They, all 3 of them, were totally perplexed as to why they gave up on pettis. They said when given opportunities he played well. They were all furious that he was cut. If anyone has the time they can search for 9er discussion Dante pettis. I’m sure you’ll find the video. The hosts last name I believe is Cohen.
all NINE of his collegiate punt return TDs - ( New Window )
definitely, and given the way Jabrill is playing I don't want to see him returning punts either.

Didn't NE, as well as a few others, also put in a claim on him? I'd say that speaks to how other teams viewed him and his talent level.
He averaged over 17 ypc as a Niners rookie, with 5 TDs, as a rookie in 2018, before he hurt his knee. Fell into Shanny’s doghouse and they drafted bigger more physical WRs over him thereafter. Finger crossed.

Yup. Stud talent, maybe has matured and the Jints catch lightning in a bottle. As Andy Dufresne said, hope is a good thing.

The fact that we even want to look at him is a commentary on our WR corps. He's worth a shot since we got nothing behind the first 3 wideouts.

For punt returns (9 TDs) at Washington, that is serious talent. If our coaching staff can find and push the right button in his head ......

Yes sir. Pettis has serious horsepower. Maybe a change of scenery ignites him.
