Martinez and Holmes are listed as "questionable", they did NOT practice on Friday after practicing on Thursday.

These two would be major losses for this game, given the opponent.
A return to an actual game preview

it is good to see.

If Holmes can't go, we may see Ryan at slot and McKinney at safety (or vice versa).

If Martinez can't go, we may see more of Peppers down low with McKinney at safety.

If both can't go ...

We are a little nicked up but pretty healthy this time of year. Despite what was thought weeks ago, we are not punching up at this opponent anymore. We are at their level.

It's December and football is still fun.
I have a feeling
Dave on the UWS : 12/11/2020 3:30 pm : link
that both were real sore after practicing Thur. They will likely be the old “game time decisions”.
Gates reminds me of Kevin Belcher. A little tall for a Center
Victor in CT : 12/11/2020 3:39 pm : link
but tough, nasty and a quick learner. A shame that he had to have that accident. By the end of 1984 he was entrenched at C.
tough game

The Steeler loss to WFT makes it so much more difficult for the Giants to make the playoffs. If my memory is correct the Steelers had the ball at the WFT 40 with about 3 minutes left 3rd and three. They passed twice and turned it over to WFT on downs. An 11-0 team with super bowl ambitions needs to be able to run the ball twice in that situation.

the best offensive line in the nfl? that's a bold statement.

I said one of the best.

Look around the league... good offensive line play is an increasing rarity.

You don't see many teams maul other teams like the Giants are doing right now. Look at what they did against the Redskins front that gave the Steelers problems.
The Giants fielding a competent OL...

What year is it, 2008?

How great it was to have a good OL after many years of bad play. It’s an amazing feeling having a good OL again. Nobody will ever convince me that the formula for a winning team is building from inside out.

Meant to say nobody will ever convince me that there is a better formula for a winning team than building from the inside out.
This is a game where the Giants defense need to be the QB eater.

Hopkins DNP most of the week and was a limited

participant on Friday. Hopefully we get a limited version of Hopkins on Sunday! This will be a big test for our Defense. They can run and pass the ball well.
What’s happened to Slayton?
Simms11 : 12/12/2020 11:34 am : link
Is he being double-teamed? He has not been very effective the last few games and we’ve hardly heard his name. We really need that DJ to Slayton connection to begin to click again to help us make this playoff run.

Agree. They may becoming one of the best O-lines AND one of the least expensive.

Reports that he's been hobbled by an ankle injury for weeks now, unfortunately.
