By a long shot. Giants made their own bed. I was prepared for WFT to win tonight - albeit rooting hard against that - but I was not prepared for a blatant tank.
Sitting nicked up players, getting some rookie skill guys looks, etc etc - all feels within bounds. This was different. Felt like a disgrace and a disrespect to the players on the field.
Alex Smith was so confused after the game in his interview - very telling.

It’s not about that. Sure I would have loved for us to be in the playoffs because it’s been so damn long since we’ve been there. But you’re right. 6-10 doesn’t cut it.
But the Eagles tanking isn’t about whether we got into the playoffs or not. It’s a League issue. A team blatantly throwing a game for a higher draft pick is the cheapest, most amateurish thing I’ve seen in the NFL. The league has to address it because it impacts the integrity of the game. All fans and anyone associated with the NFL should be concerned about this.
SF tanked against the Rams to prevent the 49ers from having to deal with the Giants .. smart move
As Phil Simms said “They laid down like dogs”. Also inn 2008 we rested players in the final game. If I recall correctly there were playoff implications for other teams.
I keep hearing the resting players argument brought up. That's not an apples to apples comparison. If a team rests it's players it's almost always to protect them and their team for a game the following week. It is ultimately to help their teams chances to win. The Eagles doing it in this case was the opposite of that, they did it to help a loss.
