I wouldnt put it past them if Pitts or Smith is their clear cut BPA.
I think he's going top 10 though....
He's not as fast as Engram, but he's bigger, has much better hands and is very quick in and out of his routes. I'd be happy with that pick.

but I read that he is more of a big WR than a "two way receiving and blocking TE". Although Pitts supposedly has great hands, he sounds a little like a bigger version of Engram (i.e. subpar blocking skills).

Other than that 80 yard td against Tampa in Jones's first start I can't remember a time when Engram's 4.4 speed showed on the field.
Maybe he's just a bigger and better version of Engram. He may not be a great blocker, a la Engram, but that could be where the similarities end. He might just make the plays Engram can't.
I agree....absolutely no way Dallas gets a TE to compete with the 3 amigos for the ball....Cooper, Lamb, and Gallup. Besides Schultz looks awfully good and so did that TE who got injured and scored many tds against us.
SIGN ME UP.
Great WR at a position of desperate need.
20 Bears Wyatt Davis OL (Right Guard)
OHIO STATE • SOPH • 6'4" / 313 LBS
21 Jaguars (From Rams) Chris Olave WR
OHIO STATE • JR • 6'1" / 188 LBS
32 Chiefs Josh Myers OL (Center)

If the Giants trade down to the middle of the first round and want some additional OL help (particularly guard).
Olave looking very good versus Clemson. Olave versus Surtain should be interesting.
Between the FA WR class and the draft class, maybe some teams will be hesitant in taking a WR that early.
But his frame is so slender that I wouldn't feel great about the punishment and recovery he has to manage.
If it's WR, Chase seems as talented and likely more durable.

Receivers touch the ball 5-7 times per game on average. Half the time they don't even get hit, instead running out of bounds or giving them self up to avoid big hits.
On top of that, they play out on the perimeter where big hits are less likely to happen.
And, the rules have been changed where receivers are more protected than any other position on the field besides QB. No more big hits on defenseless receivers over the middle.
Worry about injuries to a receiver because of a slender frame is not a good reason to be scared off by an exceptional talent like Smith. Especially since he's dominated press coverage and contested catch situations- which are typically the things you'd worry about with a slender WR.

They are desperate for DBs, DTs and have a loaded receiving corps. However, that would be a dream draft for the Giants.
They need OL help as well. Their line is aging and getting hurt. They kind of need a new Left Tackle of the future. And they like drafting OL when they are up high.
The Garrett Cowboys did. I'm not sure what they do without his voice in the room.

I get your POV. But I don't see that much difference between Chase and Smith as prospects. So I'll take the prospect who I think has the more durable frame.

This exactly.
Dalton Schultz this year and Blake Jarwin last year both proved to be reliable TEs. Dallas will not select a TE with the 10th pick in the draft.
The selection will be 100% a defensive player. I would be skeptical of any mock draft that didn't have a defensive player selected by Dallas.
