From our friends at USA Today:
Ravens (11-5) at Titans (11-5), 1:05 p.m. ET at Nissan Stadium, Nashville; ESPN and ABC or live stream on fuboTV
Bears (8-8) at Saints (12-4), 4:40 p.m. ET at Mercedes-Benz Superdome, New Orleans; CBS, Nickelodeon, Amazon Prime Video or live stream on fuboTV
Browns (11-5) at Steelers (12-4), 8:15 p.m. ET at Heinz Field, Pittsburgh; NBC, Telemundo and Peacock or live stream on fuboTV.
Nickelodeon? Haha.
Don’t care bout New Orleans or Chicago.
Don’t care bout New Orleans or Chicago.
I picked Chicago
Totally agree. This Ravens/Titans game was easily the matchup I was most interested in heading into this weekend. I feel like the winner of this game can make an underdog run at the Super Bowl, especially if it's Baltimore/Lamar who can get over the playoff hump. I'm rooting for the Ravens and Lamar I guess, but I'm also a huge fan of Derrick Henry and would love to see him have a vintage performance in a win. Should be a good one.
I also think the Bears give the Saints a better game than expected. I have no real rhyme or reason for thinking that since the Saints are about as complete as any team in the league and the Bears are only in the playoffs because the NFL wanted even more money, but I think it could be a game where the Bears D steps up and Khalil Mack reminds the country that he's still Khalil Mack.
Saints will cakewalk Bears who imho are lucky to be there
would love to see Cleveland win but don't think they will
Colts blew it yesterday, but glad Bills advanced
playoffs? - ( New Window )
I think it was announced that there would be an increase in commercials during the playoffs, as if we haven't suffered enough.
Talk about a guy who has some very underrated plus skills...
How is they push-off not called?
Ridiculous.
Probably had more highlights on that drive alone compared to our WRs and Engram all year.
Is he supposed to just let Humphries maul him?
Thank goodness the Giants drafted 3 different players before the Titans selected AJ Brown.

Humphrey...

I don't see elite skills in Tannehill. I see a very good QB operating under a very conservative run-first scheme with an excellent supporting cast. He's in a perfect situation for his skills. It makes him statistically top-8. But he is probably more of a top-12-15 talent. Right now Jones is very far away from him, though.

It took Tanneyhill many years to get where he is right now (wherever that is). HE failed in Miami before this. Jones is in his 2nd season. WE need to have perspective here.

If you didn’t like that, you won’t like when I mention the guy we took 14 spots ahead of Brown lasted all of 1 season in Blue due to him being charged with multiple felonies.

I agree. Tannehill seems like the QB pre-draft and sometimes now he is compared too. I have a friend who is a hugh Dolphins fan. He used to tell me all the time He wished the Dolphins had a QB like Eli. I always told him he had a pretty darn good QB the problem was his team sucked. He certainly has played well for the Titans. Has some talent around him now. Maybe some Giants fans won't be happy if that's who he ends up being but I could think of worse and yes I know he was a first round pick and so wasn't Tannehill. IMO the talent is there for Tannehill that's for sure.

Exactly. Thank you.
you can win a SB with him, that's for sure. He had another very good year:
TD% - 3rd
INT% - 7th
QBR - 4th
RATE - 5th
Y/A - 6th
Y/C - 4th
Attempts - 18th
But he is highly managed and conservative.
Ravens really need to punch this in.
Dropped INT helps
The story last year was Lamar sinking his team before they even had a chance. He’s responding better than last year so there that.
Ravens really need to punch this in.
That's not a bad comp.
Ravens really need to punch this in.
Reminds me of Anquan Boldin. He’s humongous.
A team that had Brown and DK Metcalf as its wide receivers went 5-7.
Ravens really need to punch this in.
Nicks' catch radius was huge and after the catch he was hard to bring down. Reminded me of TO's performance down the line, obvious to a lesser effect. TO was dominant over the middle too so the comparisons end there but Nicks was SUPER effective and one of my favorite Giants of recent time.

Titans might’ve been the worst defense in the sport the final 8 weeks of the season. If he can’t get it done today, then when?

We don’t pick the players...
Yeah, exactly. That's what some of these guys don't get. I hardly watch any other teams anymore so it is nice to see ineffective positions on our team do what they're supposed to do on others. Oh and by golly what a surprise they just happen to be a playoff team where we can watch their game in full.
The AFC team I detest the most, XXV/Lewis/their hideous uniforms.
You don't recall Boss/Ballard catching a seem passes and rumbling for 30 to 40 yards out or nowhere lol? We used to have effective TE's then we went to the failed oversized WRs that run poor routes, have terrible catch radius, terrible hands but... run fast lol. There's a reason these guys don't play WR. Hopefully we go back to the oversized country boy, that has no fear over the middle and disregard the 40 time.
It’s crazy how bad they are and we usually don’t see how bad it can get with Henry controlling the clock in many cases. When you take that into account their defense is basically worse than ours was in 2018-19.
Yea I get Vick vibes. Man was he fun to watch pre Eagles time. Steve Young was fun too.
That seriously may be a play you look back at and say it flipped the game. The middle 8 is so important.
Quote:
one thing is clear. WRs get open and fight for contested balls. More and more seeing how important the TEs are to the offenses.

Yeah, sadly I do remember. I also remember Nicks, Cruz and Manningham. And we wonder why our offense stinks.
And to piggyback that’s why it’s so important to have your team loose into playoffs. I’d say that mantle belongs to Bills and Chiefs this year.

Yeah, I mean, if the only job of a QB is to throw the ball to another offensive player, he wouldn't be so great. But since the main goal of the position is to coordinate and contribute to how the ball moves down the field and ideally into the end zone, he is pretty damn good.
Year after year they put out a quality product. What a franchise.

Considering where the ball was, the large amount of talent they have on offense, and the complete lack of it on defense, punting was an absolutely ridiculous thing to do there.
But they got bailed out by a penalty and only allowed a FG.
I'd buy Daniel Jones a new house if that were his career numbers vs Philly

He already has 2 losses so he better go on an epic run soon
Agreed
They got plenty of time. Mentioning what the others said, I think if Tennessee scores a TD, a 2 point conversion attempt won't be surprising.
I think baker mayfield just recently passed Big Ben form most wins at Paul Brown Stadium in the last decade or something.
HAHAHAHAA
Bravo sir
The WR fell.
The throw was right there...
It made no sense. It’s not as if his defense was playing well. Plus, the punt was awful.
Lamar misses a wide open receiver. Practically a timeout for Tennessee.

I disagree. There was nothing about that situation or the strengths and weaknesses of his team that made that a good decision. His defense is horrendous. They needed a penalty just to avoid giving up a game ending TD.
Terrible loss.
I hope the Chiefs kill the Ravens next week.

I cant stand the low threshold for "what a smart play".. Like really? Every Joe Schmoe knows what to do there. You would have to be severely mentally deficient to go out.

I don't know everything Terps writes. He's a very bright poster and is willing to post unconventional views that don't follow the mainstream.

All you need to do is find a way to win. You don't need ARod at QB to win SB. It's really and overrated position from a skill/Stat point of view. Make the plays in the big spots and manage the game. A good QB is one that gives his team a chance to win and doesn't cause a loss with an untimely back breaking error.
To further your point of LJ having a hell of a game, the kid made the plays when he had to and didn't throw another pic. His runs were key. Regardless if it were a good performance from a traditional or statistical view, LJ got it done.
Worst ever Heisman winner, NFL MVP, 30-7 starter with 87 TDs vs 28 TOs. Awful player.
Titans have to diversify their offense a bit, for situations like this

Throw short of the sticks and give up a touchdown. an incomplete would have been ideal.

Yea, Brady has absolutely no reason to retire. Only sacked 21 times on like 600 attempts. He's safe back there, 5th best in QB pressures but they need a running game to make him even safer. 28th in rush attempts is usually not great for a QBs safety lol.
I cannot remember. Was Mitchell trubisky the Bears QB when they played the Giants this year?

I cannot remember. Was Mitchell trubisky the Bears QB when they played the Giants this year?
Yes it was him. He threw for a whopping 190 yards
Or let him run the QB keeper and dive over the goal line. Anyway. I think the Saints will benefit from this tune and be sharper next week.
It doesn’t matter but nfl won’t overturn that cause the nfl is incompetent
I think it's because total points scored is an eventual tiebreaker in the regular season, but since it doesn't matter in the playoffs they don't bother with it.
That said - bettors who had the +10 are pretty pissed right now.
His commercials are insufferable but I think he deserves credit for being the symbol of the righting of the ship in Cleveland.

I can see that happening.

We need a runner like him or Hunt. Gallman puts ball on ground too much and Barkley is all around back who doesn’t run through tackles enough with power.

I was watching a Bradshaw highlight video, that kid was a good back ran like Chubb. Miss him. Don't sleep on Barkley though. He hunts for the big run rather than seeking and hitting the hole before it closes. He will develop into an all rounder soon, especially with the oline developing as it has.

True. It's not a 28 point lead, but we did have an 11 point lead with 6 mins left in the first Philly game this year, haha.
Every first down or converted third and Cleveland hospitals will be getting heart attack patients :) They need to just run run run. Shorten this game, take the will away, and don’t let off.

Yeah, I would be too, at least alittle bit. If it was the second half, not so much. But at the end of the first QUARTER, yeah.

That game ended in the longest drive in NFL history and with 0 points lol
I was there, and all the jitters evaporated after the first half. You could look at the Vikings bench, they wanted no part of playing the second half.

The team I'm seeing isn't as good as the Jets.
The second half was enjoyable just to see the Minny meltdown on the bench and to see the WR's pouting.
But I don't think we ever were worried Minny would come back or even threaten.
Is Barkley somehow playing in this game for the comparison to be made??
Why is there commentary on Barkley here, numbnuts?
Naa, be good on our guy. Kid gives his all out there and has broken off some great plays for us no? Chubb is behind the best line in the league. Barkley was behind solder and his gang of turnstiles and matadors.
In the Wild Card Game, the Niners fell behind the New York Giants 38–14 but erupted with 25 unanswered points and survived a chaotic last-second field goal attempt by the Giants; the 39–38 win was the 26th playoff win in the team's history and as of 2019, it is the fourth biggest comeback in NFL Playoff history.

That fair, i don't want Barkley banging up the middle any way. Let's remember Chubbs back up is an elite back in Hunt. Plus that 1# ranked oline.
Gallman could be that guy. But I'm still trying to wrap my head around how Gallman "puts the ball on the ground too much" when his only fumble of the year was last week and it was recovered by him.
Was he supposed to be better than not losing a fumble??

Yea he dropped the ball at the wrong time but usually he's fine. I think he fumbled twice in that game. He runs hard and strong. He may not be the perfect complimentary back to SBs skill set but he's surely a good back.

He fumbled twice in the game. He also had two earlier in the year he re-recovered both. I think you’re looking at straight turnovers.
He's mostly average but when he has a bad game... it's really bad. Browns are at their best when Baker completes around 15 passes in an entire game. Which is the type of football I like.

Yeah that was not a perfect spot. Gallman created a gap between his forearms that was plenty big enough for Jones to fit it in and yet Jones completely failed to get in between his arms cleanly. As Greg said he banged it off of his forearm. When getting a hand off the RB is not looking at the ball he’s look long at the hole and the defenders, so it’s on the QB to place the ball correctly because that’s literally all a QB has to do on that play.
Not to mention a failed handoff exchange is really not what you normally think of when we talk abo it a RB having fumbling issues. The one later on in the game was his only fumble all year and it didn’t even come on a hit to Gallman, which if anything honestly makes me think of it as more of a fluke anyway.
Anyway, like he said, one botched handoff in no way means an RB has fumbling problems. That's just silly.

Aikman said that Gallman did not have his arms spread far enough, but he also said it was Jones job the get the ball there.
Who cares, season is over.

Oh wait... that did happen.
Or you win with two TDs and two EPs. I think it was def right. If you go for two and miss you only tie with a td and EP
The way things are going right now, the Steelers are going to win by multiple scores
Or put another way, a way that's entirely Clevelandian.

Even the Browns will admit the clown show of the first quarter were mostly flukes. That bad snap TD kicked off a chain of bizarre events. They have 34 points on 250 yards lol. 250 yards usually turns into about 17 points on a good night, but 34?
Quote:
why they didn't go for 2 there ? Down 13 go for 2 and make it 11 so you only need a TD/2 point conversion and a FG. Now they need 2 TD forsure

No it was 35-22. You miss the 2 point conversion you are still up 13 . You make the extra point you are up 12. What is the difference if you are down 12 or 13 ? Being down 11 though makes a big difference since you only need a TD/2 point conversion and a FG
yep, absolutely no downside to going for 2. i was pretty surprised too.
I agree this overall would be probably worse than anything Giants have experienced.
The Steelers lost the momentum with punting it looks like.

But someone forgot the hammer, it appears....
And as I write this it looks like they’ve got an injured guard.
Dunn Over Unger and Unger Over Dunn?
Then we can rest Barkley for a few key series in a playoff game without losing a whole lot of production!!
Have Tony Romo miss a wide open Miles Austin.
Have Eli hit Nicks and Ballard in the go ahead drive.

Really happy for the Browns fans tonight. Huge win. Has to feel good beating the Steelers twice in a row just a month or so after some people were thinking they might go 19-0. Objectively speaking If I were a Browns fan I could imagine hating the Steelers even more than Giants fans hate the Eagles and Cowboys (i know that saying a lot but think about it lol).
Yea he just has that way about him, very very hard to like. Zero charisma. Probably how the rest of the league felt about Odell when we had him, and I loved the guy. Deangelo Hall was like that, Haskins, and D. Jackson are a few others with that smug attitude that just rub people the wrong way.
Both AFC road teams look very lively. Buffalo is weak against the run, and Baltimore is excellent against the pass.
Rams D is capable of punching GB in the mouth and making that a close game, especially if Donald is 100%.
That shot of Big Ben makes me feel like he might retire. Looked like he was taking it all in.
Yeah Packers the clear favorite in the NFC. I still think Packers/Saints will be a good game though.
Toss up between the Chiefs, Bills, and Ravens in the AFC , with Chiefs having the slight edge I think given the fact they’ll be home and only have to play either of those teams once while the other 2 have to play each other and THEN the Chiefs.

The Ravens will have their way with the Bills, I don't see a way to stop the run after the way their D performed against a mid pack rushing attack... Only way the Browns can run on the Chiefs is if they stop them from building a lead, which is very difficult to do. Should be a fun weekend. Looking forward to it.
I have Ravens losing to the Chiefs in the AFCC and the Packers beating the Saints in the NFCC. Packers to win it all unfortunately, not a fan of GB.
The Bills gave up 160 to the Colts midpack running game. It's going to be a tough ask for them to hold down the Ravens who were first in total yards and YPC.
Also interesting both 7 seeds were beaten, but Colts definitely gave Bills a run for their money.
I like this new playoff format. It’s nice that the 1 seed is rewarded with the bye. Makes being crowned the “regular season champion” all that more important. Of course Still don’t like The fact we don’t have fans in the stands though. Home field advantage in football is part of what makes the game so fun.

I don't see Baltimore or anyone else necessarily having their way with them, but if Baltimore does what they did today (hold their water and stick to the run even if they go down) they're going to be tough for anyone to beat. As we saw today Jackson can score from anywhere at any time.

I agree the Ravens are a dangerous team, but let’s put this in perspective: they’ve been a very good running team for 3 years now, and they only just today won their 1st playoff game since shifting to LJ and their current general game plan. Everyone thought the Ravens were unbeatable last year and then they were 1 and done. The Bills and Chiefs won 13 and 14 games this year respectively while the Ravens won 11. I like the Ravens and again I think they’re a dangerous team, but I’m pumping the brakes on now just assuming they’re going to run the table and “have their way” with everyone from here on out. I still think Chiefs and Bills are better overall teams then Baltimore.
That said, I don’t think the Chiefs are as immortal as some people make them out to be, and I do agree teams that good running teams who don’t panic and STICK TO RUNNING THE BALL have a real chance at beating them (I.e. the Ravens). I almost think the Ravens could even stand a better chance at beating the Chiefs than the Bills for that reason. But I actually don’t think they’re getting past the Bill.
Certainly was.
I like the Chiefs as a team. Their fans are insufferable at this point though
Browns went 0-16 in 2017. Quite a turnaround in 3 years...and this year with a rookie head coach in THE COVID season.

Wins for Mayfield, Allen and LJax.

Yep good job by the QBs and their teams. Bills have been steadily building to this season. The Browns have been all over the place. They had the talent, but the wrong coaches and FO. Baltimore has been good for a very long time.
I expect all three to play well next week but not sure if Cleveland hasn't lost too many starters on the oline and in the DBs.
I wonder if Pittsburgh will now crash and burn. 11-0 to 1-5 in last six games.
Cleveland at KC
Balt at Buff
Good games.
Jackson was garbage as usual, the other two looked great. Allen is going to embarrass Lamar next week. He can actually throw the ball.
Just off the top of head, all of our NFCE teams have experienced the PO's in the past few years... we have seen teams like the Bills, Colts, Chargers, Browns, Bucs, Bears, etc... all rebuild or again, at least have a relevant season during that stretch while we struggle to win 6 games.
we can talk about this move or that situation to explain things away but we are a bottom dweller (along with our stadium mates) and things need to change quickly.
