Man, I know he was hurt quite a bit this year, but re-watching some of his highlights he’s like a Burress clone. Would love to see this type of physical receiver on the Giants again.
My dream would be signing him and drafting Waddle in the first round then BPA the rest of the draft.

the same reason we may not want to sign him - too much money for a guy who gets hurt a lot?

They may end up signing him, but living in the Detroit area there is a lot of talk they want to start over and essentially reset the team with a new coaching staff coming in, etc. They may opt to spend cash in other areas such as their defense which is atrocious. There’s no guarantee Stafford is back either. The same can be said for Allen Robinson in Chicago, you would think they would want to keep him but it sounds like they are going to let him hit the market.

THis is the only reason I can get behind - and I agree - is this a risk worth taking if you're the Giants?

Free agency is a two-way street. The player has to be interested in re-signing as well. I think Golladay will likely want to see what his market value is.
They’re also looking at a full rebuild in Detroit. New general manager, new coach, and potentially new quarterback. Maybe he doesn’t want to be part of that rebuild.

Well...they could always slap a tag on him...
Add Barkley and a hopeful re-signing of Gallman and our offense would have some real firepower. On paper anyway.
Dreaming that he was lined up opposite Kaden Smith.
He's going to command WAY more than the "take a flyer" salary range.

for the right price you take a flyer on him

maybe so -- then I would make it performance based if possible -- I do like his size and he can make tough plays and get open -- I do not like his injury history
And not for nothing, quite a few blown coverage TDs in that highlight reel.
Because WR was some forgotten position by the Front Office in 2020, the Giants strategy really needs to have 2 new bodies this year...one experienced free agent that can contribute early and another Day 1 or Day 2 pick that can contribute as the season moves along.
He had a rough season this past year and missed 5 games his rookie year. 48 of 64 games isn't awful IMO.
That said, I doubt Detroit let's him go, especially if Stafford comes back.
I’d sign him in a heartbeat but still draft a game-breaker if one is available.
