Going to the Eagles as a result of the Giants winning a few games that mean nothing in the grand scheme would be a total nightmare.
I never understand these posts. I get a fan rooting for a loss, but who are you angry at, the players because they tried to win, or the fans here who rooted for those wins?
For those of you advocating Waddle....he is TINY. The whole big receiver thing I am into, but we can sign a small, fast, sturdy guy in FA for not that much in Samuel.
Yeah but can we sign one as fast or as much of a game breaker as Waddle, who’s also about as dangerous a punt returner as could be?
Not that I'd be opposed to Waddle but we already have the all time collegiate record holder for return TDs on our team.
Samuels ran a 4.31. He is not as quick as youd like, but he is plenty sturdy. I will take that guy running croossers and skinny posts and jet sweeps while Slayton stays outside.
If we signed that guy, I would be all in on Pitts as long as Parsons and Surtain were not available.
the players are in the SEC. Smith and Waddle weren't playing in a the Colonial.
Very good point.
Thats fine....EVERYBODY in the NFL is bigger, stronger and faster than the SEC in the NFL.
True, but you make it sound like Smith and Waddle are playing against weak competition and that they're two tiny dudes. Smith is 6'1" and will put on some weight in the league.

Well the SEC did have 64 players drafted in the last draft. Don’t have the numbers from prior years but they put a heck of a lot of players into the league.
Point is, Smith, and Waddle do play against big, fast, talented players just about every game. Obviously not as many as in an NFL game but the SEC is a pretty good barometer for them to be evaluated by as it is for everyone else who plays in that conference.

Ok cool. Im not arguing this any more. I just seem to think we need a more physical receiving threat than a couple of guys who are very light in the ass.

Yeah that’s cool. I’m done too. I appreciate the back and forth but we just have to agree to disagree on these guys.
FTR I’d love it if both were bigger too, but I’m not gonna pass on them because they aren’t but I get you and others would. It’s all good though. Different strokes and we’ll just have to watch this all play out going forward with their careers.
What a program Saban has built there. Fully deserving. Yea, maybe most kids use him for football and he does the same, but they are practically all great kids, solid to great pros with great characters....he is a great coach and deserves to be recognized as the best ever.

I agree they almost always end up being great dudes. What more can you really ask for from Saban. It’s not like when all the guys who graduated from Miami had problematic characters more often than not.

just assholes, arrogant, showboaters, etc. Any off-field issues for the most part centered around money, which probably was and still is happening around most programs.
As mentioned, Nebraska had actual bad characters - Phillips, Christian Peter, etc.
Agree with those complimenting Saban. He was built a incredible program in all facets. Team first, very talented and high character.
This coach loses a coordinator like every year. He loses players to the NFL every year many early entrants. Yet, year in and year out that team performs. It is incredible. He rebuilt Michigan State, LSU and now Alabama. Truly the best in the game.
Sark really had a great year. Good to see him getting another chance at Texas. I can't imaging a top QB not wanting to play for him. Texas will challenge Oklahoma in short order imo.
its part of my own crazy armchair GM moves that I would make which include getting an outside WR via FA, someone big bodied who can make the tough catch - like Allen Robinson. Part of this fake plan is also cutting Shepard, drafting Waddle and putting him in the slot. So you'd have Robinson/Slayton outside, Waddle in the slot and Barkley in the backfield. I think they win a ton of games this way.
Alabama's motion offense last night destroyed OS defense
They reacted terribly to motion all night long leaving WR's wide open.
Saban is truly one of the great college coaches in history. Alabama consistently under Saban brings in top 3 recruiting classes with high character every year.
Saban also made a strategic change in his philosophy to a more high powered offense versus stout defense about 5 years ago bringing him his last 2 national titles.
It was kind of a blowout but I did enjoy this game
two really well coached teams. I think Ryan Day is terrific (even if he looks like a human lizard king) abd OSU fans should be excited and hope he doesn't get called to the NFL. Imo, why wouldn't the Jets look at him.
Bama is just lights out coached, plus they have terrific talent. We can only hope Judge has the same effect on the Giants.

You draft Waddle at 11 to be a slot receiver? I think Shepard is fine at slot. Quick guy with good hands that can block and get open.
Too bad his ankle is still hurting. Would like to have seen him at full tilt because compared to Smith - well there is no comparison.
Yeah...that finger is done

Either case makes no sense.
Yes. Just mentioned it in the Devonte Smith thread.
Where do the Pats pick?

We don't agree on a lot, but this is a valid concern.
See some Tom Brady with some better wheels...
I think we can't possibly know that unless an NFL team starts him for 3 years :)

quarterback. He’s a slightly better version of AJ McCarron.

I hate to say it but if they let DT walk....
That OSU D is exhausted. But Proctor has made some plays.
Very good point.

Exactly what I was thinking. CBS has him #2 DL and #27 overall. Doubt he makes it to 42.

Im glad. Bw, I dont take joy in disagreeing woth a poster who obviously pays very close attention to the game as you do.
Just dont go looking at this as the Treaty of BBI (see what I did there? Rhymes with Versailles) 👽😷

Nebraska was worse than Miami? ok...
Now please retire. (I know he's got 5-7 more yrs in him...)

Nothing will ever touch Miami under Jimmy Johnson.
Yes OU under Switzer was bad. The U under Johnson was the worst.
