I thought it was peculiar that they would release someone on a one-year contract. If Freeman signs a contract for $2M+/season (or thereabouts) in free agency their generosity could cost them a 7th round comp pick in 2022.

It's a shame about the injury bug with him (not to mention concussions). When healthy, he's the ideal backup to Barkley. He still has a burst. But you can't depend on him, so what's the point.

Listen, I get we're all frustrated lately with the direction of the team/the product post Hurricane Sandy in '12. But people acting like we're the F'ing Detroit Lions...like come on. If you're above the age of, say 30, you've seen them go to 3 Super Bowls & win 2 of them in dramatic fashion.

I still think this franchise is highly esteemed around the league, despite our lack of recent success.
