NGT: Robert Saleh has second interview with the Jets today

Vin_Cuccs : 1/12/2021 10:16 am
According to reporters on Twitter, he is the apparent front runner for the job, and has impressed Jets ownership.
IMO that would be a good hire for them

Saleh has a great story and is a great d coordinator

I’m not so sure he’ll be a great head coach, but I guess we’ll see
Eagles also requested an interview

Great D coordinator with an all pro defensive line. He’s a guy I can see falling right on his face. His brand came from having bosa,
Armstead, Buckner and Solomon Thomas. I stay away from him. He worries me.
Not sure how this would shake out

Agree.
We will see.
I'd say Jets are more attractive then Eagles

With combination of picks and cap flexibility.

Why, because they are both DC's? Salerh is NOTHING like Rex. Rex's problem was that he wanted the cameras on him, Saleh is nothing like that.

I have no idea if he'll be a good HC, but he is a smart, well-prepared DC.

GB HC little bro is in SF with Saleh, if that is his OC candidate I think he’s gonna be a great hire for someone. Staff is the overlooked piece for a lot of these guys. Staff is as important as the HC hire.
The more I watch the Jets founder trying to find a coach,

and the more I think about McAdoo and Shurmur, the more I appreciate Joe Judge. It's hard to find a good head coach, and very hard to find a really good one. I think the Giants finally hit on their choice. It's tougher than getting a franchise quarterback.
I don't see it

The better OCs (McVay especially) seem to eat his lunch, but who knows.

I think Rex's bigger problem as a HC was that like his father, Buddy, he thought he could just oversee the defense and leave it to his coordinators to run the O and ST.

His father thought he was such a freaking genius of D, he didn't need an O and ST. He even basically said that (I was living in Philthy area at the time). It wasn't just words, you could see it in action. No wonder he never won a playoff game as HC. Rex had a little of that in him.

Those kind of guys should remain coordinators, not HCs.

I'm glad it appears we have a legit HC, not someone who wants to call the plays on O or D.
