....watched it last night after 1st half of game and thought it was very interesting.
Has anyone else seen it? I believe it's a two part doc with his downfall focused on next.
His father literally had Tiger's career planned out from when he was just 2 years old, and from what was revealed, his father cheated on his mom in full view of Tiger. He was an overwhelming shadow on his son.
You have to wonder the psychological effect on a kid and may give insight into Tiger's actions.
The part about using mind games on Phil. Took place on the 13th at the masters. First if you watch the video, Phil hit 3 wood too. He played a fade to Tigers draw. Any golfer knows that a draw is going to be longer than a fade.
So then Stevie claims Phil was dejected and feel apart. They then cut to Phil hitting a bad tee shot and tiger hitting it close. Problem is the bad tee shot they showed was on the 10th and the shot tiger hit was on the 11th. All before the mind game.
From the 13th hole in Phil was 1 under. Hardly the choke job they implied.
Now if they are being dishonest about that what else are they being dishonest about?
Watch the show. They actually had a falling out once tiger made it.
My only regrets? I wish he stayed with Butch Harmon, I wish he didn’t get obsessed with bulking up ... and I wish we had another 5 prime years.
But I will never forget watching him up close at RTJ at The Presidents Cup in his absolute young prime. He was still playing a small headed, steel shafted driver at the time. His downswing was like a vortex of speed and he hit a drive that defied logic — crazy low, a tight little 300 yard draw. Holy crap.

I watched that part and thought, IMO, it was sort of lame to claim Phil caved just because Tiger out-drove him from the tee on that particular....isn't it really who wins the hole?
These guys are the best, not some duffers lol
Did you watch the show? They were being literal. They claim Phil folded because tiger out drove him. They claim Phil hit driver and tiger hit three wood. If you watch the video Phil hit 3 wood too. They had tigers caddie claim it was the reason tiger won. But the facts show otherwise.
Aren't documentaries supposed to be factual. If they make this stuff up, what else are they making up? The funny thing is, this topic has nothing to do with tigers sorry. Why is it even in the show?

haha agree.
Also not much in there that wasnt already known.
Part 1 ends with quick look at one of the girls linked to Tiger as he begins to follow in his Dad's footsteps with alleged cheating.
I mean is it? That certainly was extremely weird and it was apparent Tiger was going to be a fairly famous person at that point.
I'd love it if the creators of the Tiger doc did it just to tweak him!!
I just thought the Tiger vs Phil stuff was more media than reality. It just seems when you have a hero (Tiger) you need a villain (Phil). Is that wrong?
They seem cordial now (at a minimum and I'd even believe they were friends if someone said as much) (maybe like a Magic and Bird relationship?) and I will allow that time/life changes people so maybe he was a douche bag in his prime but has mellowed now. Today, Mickelson is one of the best twitter follows and one of the most interesting interviews in the sport. Just seems like a regular guys busting balls and getting his balls busted. He comes across as arrogant at times, but when you are (or were) one of the 5-best in the world at what you do sometimes its that arrogance that makes you successful.
Definitely seems like they are much more cordial now then they were in the early 2000s
