Tyreek Hill 2.0. Grab Robinson or Golladay in FA and draft this guy in round 1 to play the Hill role. This is the kind of player you can pitch it to on a reverse, run a quick slant and he’s off to the races, or run him deep and burn a slow footed CB or S.
Ok, he's super fast and has great moves. Got it. But big plays against Louisiana-Lafayette and the Citadel don't tell you much.
But those wide receiver screens and contested catches around the 4-minute mark impressed me. He's got the speed, he seems to have great hands, he fights for the ball...
He may even be drafted ahead of Smith, nuts as that sounds.
There's a good chance that one of Chase, Smith and Waddle is still available at 11. A bunch of QBs will likely go, there's Sewell and Parsons... One of the top 3 receivers could easily fall out of the top 10, especially if the Jets go QB. If not one of those 3, then Surtain. Some prospect who appears to be a lock for the top 10 is going to fall. For the Giants' sake I hope it's not a QB.

A sub 4.4 stud opposite our sub 4.4 Slayton and you’d see a big jump in our WR production. Slayton is a legit #2 if there is a true #1 opposite him. This year he was the focus for the defenses we played. Left with normal coverages he’d be much more effective as would Shepard. This WR group is one really good player away. Waddle, I think, would be that guy.
This team needs a big target. I don’t necessarily mean height, but physical. AJ Brown(whom we passed on for DeAndre Baker) is only 6’0/6’1, but he’s strong and attacks the football. I don’t want any of the Bama WRs the whole makes them all uncoverable. Jeudy and Ruggs had bust level
year 1s. I hope they can find a way for Golladay, Robinson, or Godwin. Then you take Pitts in Round 1 and the offense is complete.
Jones Barkley/Gallman Slayton Shepard Pitts and whichever of those 3 WRs they can get. Rework Zeitlers deal to retain him and cut Tate, Engram, and Solder.

I don't love the combo of Waddle and Slayton as 1/2. Like someone mentioned about, if you add a Galloday or Robinson to the mix, THEN you have the makings of a very nice receiving core with those 3 + Shep in the slot.
32 WRs were drafted last year....20+ in 1st few rounds
As the draft is all about supply and demand.....
This year there are also a ton of WRs in this draft....
Plenty of value....later
In 1st go bpa....which can be the top corner. Not sure if there is game wreaking Edge.
I also wouldn't go with a non-blocking TE either
Totally on board with this line of thinking. I would not rule out the offensive line once again for the Giants. The line is still awful. Wyatt Davis is an absolute wall and Sam Cosmi would provide some much-needed help at RT. Would also allow the Giants to move on from the Nate Solder albatross.
Impression that Waddle had not declared yet. If not, I believe it might be wise for him to stay at Alabama to increase his draft status. Put me down as a no at 11. Injuries scare me, and I prefer bigger receivers as well.
with Waddle's efforts to play the other night. He would have had every right to say he wasn't ready (he wasn't), but he had to be in there. Those kind of guys with his kind of talent tend to succeed more often than not.
I think Smith is the better player, but if his ankle checks out, he'd be a difference maker in this offense.
Gut feeling, he will be a bust if picked 11th overall in the NFL. Especially with Our OC.
Everyone wants to find the next Tyreek Hill. Tyreek is a unicorn. One of a kind. Look at some of the fast slot guys Ruggs, John Brown, John Ross all fast as hell all hurt often. Because they are too small and get hurt. A oft injured wr is worth less then a healthy udfa. The hitting in the NFL is 10 tomes faster, and harder.
So hard pass on Waddle at 11. There is better value at 11 (CB for one). Or move back get mote picks and then rake him if he falls.
The same there is better value later at WR. This team needs a No 1 - who exactly is the No 1 prospect WR you can get later
I went through this yesterday - the Giants are 1 of only 12 teams who do not have a 1st rd WR on their roster. 7 teams have 2 1st round WR
No 1 WR who were had in the 2nd are M. Thomas, A. Robinson, D. Adams, Shuster - Golliday was a 3rd. It is very difficult to find a No 1 outside the 1st round

Guys like AJ Brown, Chase Claypool, and Tee Higgins are what you can hope to find in round 2. All 3 have WR1 potential. Round 1 is where you have the best chance of finding one simply because you have your pick of the litter. I don’t think we can risk passing at 11 and waiting until 43. There could be a run on the position in the interim. It’s in the Giants best interest to find a WR between the FA period and round 1. A go to target is the need for Jones. Shepard Slayton and Barkley will all be better if we have that guy.
and arguably the most impact player in the country behind Smith when he's healthy. The combine will tell a lot. I have no idea about his background, but if you're just looking at it from an athlete and production standpoint, he should be in the mix at 11. The medicals will be big.
Does he fit Judge's desire to have guys that can do multiple things? Improving the Kick Off/Punt Return team with a home run hitter would help the Offense and Defense by tipping field position in Giants favor. Jones would really benefit from a WR that can make plays on their own like OBJ or Cruz. No problem taking either Bama WR at #11.
I'm worried that the plates and screws in his ankle may be an issue sooner rather then later.

I’d wait on WR as well unless smith is there which won’t happen. I’ve been banging the Ruckert table for a month. I want this kid in round 3.
+1

WR could very likely be BPA.
