Childhood x-wing pilot dream come true. I outgrew Starwars when I was like 12 (46 y/o currently). But when I tried Squadrons in VR I had childhhood Return of the Jedi 83 flashbacks of waves of tie fighters coming at me.
...you may be hearing "Dad, can you look up how to..." more than a few times with some of Fallen Order's puzzles and maps. My oldest is 9, and I could see him struggling with it.
Squadrons is fun, but it can get a little repetitive after a while. It's good if you just want to blow up spaceships for 30-45 minutes per sitting.
I think 10yr-old me would prefer Squadrons, but that's just me. I grew up on the originals, and just hearing the X-Wing engines and blasters puts a smile on my face.
My gaming tastes are ancient so I'm the wrong one to ask, but I'm really enjoying the Star Wars Pinball game for the Switch. There's lots of different tables reflecting all aspects of the series. It's cheaper than the average game too. I'm sure this is not what you're looking for but it is enjoyable :)
It included: Fallen Order, Squadrons and Battlefront II.
My son is quite proficient in all of them, so the games are all perfect for the age. He (and I) play Battlefront II the most. Very good campaign and excellent multiplayer battles. We found the Battlefront II just more fun than the other two.
gets a bad rap but its a pretty good game. My 11 year old likes that game the best of all the star wars games available right now. He prefers it over Battlefront II.
I really appreciate everyone who took the time to answer. do you know if I buy Fallen Order digitally will it be backwards compatible for the PS5?
I believe Fallen Order can be played on a PS5 (assuming you can find one) via backwards compatibility. They just released an update that optimizes performance for the PS5 too.

Wouldn't sell your son short

Also, look for the LEGO Skywalker Saga coming out this summer.
I also enjoyed the campaign mode of Battlefront II

Should be interesting to follow the progress.
