As a Knicks fan for the nets to trade their whole roster for harden...it would blow up in their face and they would be screwed the for the next 8 years without picks and All these guys splitting up in 2 years.
Was looking forward to watching them but Hardin on that team might be one too many egos for me. Heck, Kyrie is already off in the ozone. Adding Hardin. Yikes.
but if they keep allen and levert, am really fine to see how anything would play out---
not sure why anyone would trade with them for anything but those 2.
hope the Knicks finagle their way in here to facilitate the trade. Would love to somehow end up with Maxey or even throw in a boatload of picks/players to get Simmons.
There will be 5 teams in in Beal with hopefully the Knicks being one of them. If nets got Beal I would be devastated he would be a good fit with durant and Kyrie.
If the Nets get Harden, they will form another big three and despite not having a long bench, they should be the favorite to face Lebron in the finals.
Meanwhile, I think the Knicks are going to be sent down to a lower division.
Burks and Bullock out again tonight, and there goes what 3-point shooting they have.
but what does Philly have left to trade if they include Simmons and Maxey in the deal. IF Maxey were not in this deal, I'd give up Dallas 1st round pick this year for him and maybe a second.
Bad enough games are nothing but 3 point contests. Even worse that these spoiled "superstars" destroy teams by not even trying until they get their way - only to pull the same stunt over again.
giving up a 24 year old simmons for a 31 year old harden who looks like he doesnt give a shit and couldnt bother getting in shape.
And for the Nets i just dont get gutting the team for a big 3. Irving/Durant is enough scoring, you dont need Harden. Not to mention we know Kyrie will have some blow up with Harden at some point, ha. I think their depth is more of a strength then a big 3 and a bunch of crap.
So glad the knicks arent a team he would go to, ha.
extra out of shape, but he kind of always looks like this. He's just a naturally big guy so I think the optics of his fitness are worse than the reality, especially since he is always one of the league leaders in minutes played. He still looks like he needs to drop 15 lbs.
The Sixers with Harden + Embiid will be the favorites out East. I also think they'd have a legitimate chance against the Lakers because Embiid's size gives AD a lot of problems.
Simmons is a guy I like but I'm not sure how him and Wall will work. I've enjoyed rooting for the Harden Rockets, no shame in being worse than an all-time great Warriors squad. But I'm disappointed it had to end this way.
But, this is such a turnoff to me. Between Kyrie essentially choosing to play when he feels like it and Harden forcing the Rockets hand, it’s tiring. The optics are bad for the league imo.
I find it funny that a few years ago people honestly thought the NBA was taking over the NFL, how is that going?
under the circumstances. Rockets already have Wall and Wood, so it's not like the cupboard's empty. I bet they'd be a good story after putting this drama in the rearview mirror.

The Sixers, league sources say, are trying to muster other assets (such as draft compensation) to offer Houston to keep Tyrese Maxey out of a potential James Harden trade, league sources say

Trying to summon Joey Nickels, are you?
The worst thing about the NBA is the soap opera crap.
The thing that worries me about Harden is his lifestyle. In case you haven't noticed, the guy isn't a monk. He reminds me of AI in that aspect; one day Iverson was no longer Iverson & a lot of people contributed to his insane off the court shenanigans.

When Jared Dudley was interviewed by Bill Simmons on his podcast sometime after the Lakers won the title, he asked Dudley about life in the bubble etc. But he also asked Dudley about "The Last Dance" since that was such a big deal after the NBA had stopped their season. Dudley mentioned how cool the documentary was and how players on the team would get on a group chat to talk about an episode or storyline. Dudley mentioned how all the players on the team chat got a kick out of the Dennis Rodman Las Vegas detour storyline and wondered who in the current NBA would do something like that and said "maybe James Harden?"
The fact that the first name out of Dudley's mouth on the Rodman comparison was James Harden just stood out so much to me. That's not just what he thinks, Harden's a name that other guys on the Lakers group chat probably agreed to as well. That's just how much of a partier that Harden is viewed as around the league.

It’s funny you should say that because when I watched the La Houston game last night the 1st thought that crossed my mind is Harden looks out of shape
i think I would rather give up less for Beal.
He looks like Grady from Sanford and Son!!

Rockets want more picks, so Sixers are trying to acquire more picks from other teams, that is the hold up
Would love the Knicks to find a way to improve.

I agree, that's plenty. Not like there is some huge bidding war here. Nets can't match that.

Simmons and maxey by itself seems like plenty to me

Simmons & Maxey is too much.

Rockets should be thrilled to be getting Simmons back. To me that’s a no brainer. I just wonder if there is a way the Knicks can get involved.
and then let Maxey develop into what he will be.
Make it so (as long as Maxey remains in Philly)
would they take Danny Green, perhaps? Maybe Mike Scott too? : )

Yeesh. We all know how far back that Pierce/Garnett trade set them back. Hopefully they can win one in the next couple years
