'Irving is prepared to sit out the remainder of the campaign amid his growing frustration with the Nets, KRON-TV’s Jason Dumas reported Wednesday. The star point guard, who has missed Brooklyn’s last five games while the NBA investigates videos of his maskless partying, reportedly is irate with the organization for multiple reasons, including the hiring of head coach Steve Nash.'
'There also are reports indicating Brooklyn’s acquisition of James Harden was not approved by Irving, who reportedly was not answering the Nets’ calls as recently as Wednesday afternoon.'
Absent this guy having real mental health issues, he is one bizarre character. From believing the earth is flat to his comments to the media before the season to this...
If I was Sean Marks, Steve Nash, or anyone in the organization, I'd be beyond pissed with this guy. The dude has gone completely AWOL in the middle of a season that has championship aspirations.

Marks is never going to rip Kyrie in public, what is he supposed to say?

I don't know what Kyrie's endgame is here, but I do know that when push comes to shove it's all about the $$$$$$$ and when he gets threatened with his contract being voided then he'll return.
Yeah, Kyrie and Dolan would be a perfect fit. What could go wrong?
Who knows about the rumor but this isn’t the only place reporting this. It’s been all over the sports cycle today. As speculation of course, but still...

added in large part because of how unstable Kyrie is.

well if it's speculation all over! Sorry the Nash thing in particular just don't pass the smell test. Kyrie is obviously nuts but when he has been on the court he has played unreal and the entire reason they hired Nash to begin with was his relationship with he and KD.
If he does, I wish him the best. But if not...really indefensible.
That being said it’s still not a healthy stable situation in kyrie land
Uh, a lot of people. I watch more random NBA games than non Giants NFL games.
I imagine the NESN reporters have a grudge against Kyrie.
Marks could easily not say anything. That is his usual MO. I don’t think he would make a statement just for it to be an outright lie.

the guy likely has some pretty bad mental health issues so maybe pump the brakes on hating him intensely or whatever.

I'm not a psychologist, but for better or for worse I know a lot of people with varying degrees of mental health issues. This reminds me of that. I could be wrong. If he really is just a huge selfish brat, then yeah, screw him.
He hit arguably the biggest shot in the history of the NBA. Great analysis.
Haha, I'm so desperate for good PG play that I'd totally take this lunatic on the Knicks.
I think this has everything to do with what has gone on in this country, as far as i will go because i dont want to turn political..
1 game i understand, now it is jist craziness
I mean i live and work in DC and it def shook me. My work did close our building on Wed/thur but by Friday i was expected you know to go back to work.
League looking into the absence and I believe if he violated the NBA protocol, its like a $450k hit per game to Kyrie
There was a report from an executive in the NBA who said Nets can void his contract if he doesnt report soon
Nobody is touching him, even the Knicks wouldnt trade for him
Just for arguments sake, what team would even currently entertain trading for him?
Would lebron give the Ok to jettison spare parts for him? Would Riley think his talent is worth trading away Iggy and Dragic for him?
Again Kyrie would probably have to come back first and he would have to ok the deal, but we have seen this all the time in sports. Its the Crazy/hot scale but its pain in the ass/talent, as long as the talent is there someone will keep taking shots with them.
Maybe a team would take him in a salary dump but I honestly even doubt that. This is on top of the fact that he is constantly injured.
I don't think the Lakers or Miami would go down that road. You are risking him blowing up your team and you have that monster salary on the books.
Whether they cut him (no chance they do this, they are in cap hell and lose him for nothing, they gain nothing) or trade him for 10 cents on the dollar the team will end up worse and i dont see how they get close to coming out of the East.
I just randomly chose MIA and LA.
The contract wouldnt really matter to teams that are way over the cap, that would be the kind of team id be saying would take a chance.
He has also forfeited $800K in salary for the two games he has missed thus far.
Will he be back vs Magic? Stay tuned.
