Shouldn't have a problem doing so. He'd be better off going to a team like PIT if Ben retires or Indy if Rivers retires than here. I picked those teams because they are playoff teams who may need a QB. Also, he could go to a team that drafts a rookie QB so that rookie doesn't have to start right away. He should almost definitely have options. He's not a backup QB to me in terms of his play and most likely this thinking. If he becomes a full on backup he'll probably just retire.

I thought about that but he's going to be 39 so you never know. He absolutely can still be a quality starter but If he does settle for being a backup this may be a good spot for him with the coach ties.

I just don't think that is his mentality. He loves playing. The guy is almost 40 and still diving head first into defenders. That's his passion. I can't see him just latching on with a team with a QB like Jones in front of him.
Also knows how to spread the ball around, but too many Fitztragic plays when he is used too much. Loses games he should win because of turning the ball over.

He's only good starting for a limited amount of games before he remembers its time to start throwing INTs and sucking. He did it as a Jet a Buc and as a Dolphin. He's a career backup for a reason. I have nothing against the guy but no way would I trust him as a franchise QB
Damn guys, theres so much hostility towards each other on here.
Fitz was great this year and in my opinion playing the best he ever has. He was without a doubt levels above Tua. The Dolphins let Tua cruise thru the easy part of their schedule and it absolutely costed them their season when he was matched up against better teams. It’s kind of crazy how teams are so focused on finding their franchise QB. Every team wants to find their QB for the next 20 years, so teams are starting Sam Darnold, Drew Lock, Mitch Tribusky, etc over Fitzpatrick. He’s easily a top 15 QB and a top 10 QB when he’s playing well. I’d love to see him in Pittsburgh.

He was winning in Miami this year, Tua tanked them. Ironic.
Fitzpatrick as a starter: 4-3
Fitzpatrick as a starter: 4-3
Fitz came in as the closer to win multiple games in relief, do you watch football?

He did not. He did it once, against the Raiders. He came in the 4th against the Broncos and lost.
