The 96th annual East-West Shrine Bowl had been scheduled for January 23, 2021, at Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg, Florida, and was cancelled due to challenges presented by COVID-19.

The student-athletes chosen as players will still participate in various virtual training/ informational drills with current NFL coaches and members of the NFL Operations staff. Some 2021 all-stars will also participate in various virtual experiences with Shriners Hospitals for Children patients in recognition of the game's nearly century-long commitment to supporting the health care system's life-changing mission.

NYG Coaches participating:

Anthony Blevins
Bobby Blick
Jody Wright
Mike Treier

Jody Wright is an important one

He's the former head of Saban's defensive recruiting department who Judge mentioned in his Sirius interview I posted the transcript of earlier this week.
I remember that game, back in the 60s .

It was the leading showcase of college talent, held back-then at San Francisco's Kezar Stadium.

The AFL was at war with the NFL for players. NBC broadcast the game. The lead announcer was Lindsey Nelson; he noted which players were going to the NFL, with no mention of the AFL. That created a controversy.

Behind the Shrine game, came the North-South Game, from Mobile Alabama (which later morphed into the Senior Bowl)

Yup good catch, I remember your post about him. Could prove valuable in what will be the most fooked up pre-draft prep season in memory

I know nothing about. The only one that stood out to me from doing mock drafts was
TE Cary Angeline North Carolina State
From what I could find out on him

Angeline had 11 receiving touchdowns over the last two seasons and averaged 15.7 yards per reception over 61 career receptions. He was one of only 8 Tight ends to have 11+ TDs over the last two seasons. He had a 14.3% team market share receiving yards in 2020 which is just shy of the 15% indicative of long-term starting players for TEs. At 6’7″ and 250 lbs, Angeline provides a big target with soft hands and is a willing blocker. In 2019 he had six catches for 20+ yards which was tie for 2nd among power five TEs.

Some of the OL and TE from the Big 10, Molden the CB from Oregon, the WR with the hyphenated name from Iowa, and if they lose DT, I hope they take a long look at DT Darius Stills of WVU. Undersized for DG, but a gamer.

Lots of guys I haven't read a stitch about too of course.

Late round QB Costello? Used to play at Stanford.
