they gave Sanchez a raise from 5 mill to 6.35 mill.?
That is well more than 20 percent, coming off an abysmal
season no less. I would have given him 5.5 mill,
and then carry on. Let him go to arbitration, if he wanted.

Arbitration seems to be a one way street in favor of the player, no matter how bad he was.
