Draft Prospect: WR Terrace Marshall Jr. - LSU

solarmike : 1/15/2021 6:37 pm
If the fellow is available in the 3rd Round, do we make the pick?

Terrace Marshall Jr. NFL Draft Profile
Height: 6-foot-3
Weight: 200 pounds
Position: Wide Receiver
School: LSU

I'd like to see us pick up a proven FA #1 WR prior to the draft.

I don't have a good feel how to rank the WR's coming into the 2021 draft. Your educated comments are appreciated.

-Mike

Curtis Samuel seems like a DG target.

And would love to draft some gems that drop
....later in draft.

He won't make it to
Amtoft : 1/15/2021 6:47 pm : link
the 3rd and maybe not even to our 2nd. There is talk he may slip into the 1st.

I actually really like him. I have him as the 4th best WR and would move up for him if he slips to the top of the 2nd.

This. My hope is Giants get him in the 2nd if they go D in the 1st. No way is he there in the 3rd. Like Jefferson, could be drafted in 2nd half of 1st round
WRs will drop.....in this years draft
George from PA : 1/15/2021 6:58 pm : link
Over 20 WRs were drafted last year in the 1st 2 Rds...32 WRs in Total

Another loaded draft with WRs.....

Some very good WRs will be had lower....great value will be had.

That is not true. 13 WRs were selected in the first two rounds last year.
the 20th WR last year

Was chosen in the 5th round
I could see Seth Williams of Auburn,
Mark in ATL : 1/15/2021 7:23 pm : link
who is similar in size to Marshall, not being picked until the 3rd round. As has been discussed, Auburn’s QB was lacking in getting the football to two NFL caliber WR’s in Williams and Anthony Schwartz. Schwartz will be the fastest player and I really like both for the Giants.
So much talent at WR in this draft
SleepyOwl : 1/15/2021 7:34 pm : link
It’s ludicrous... However there are other positions of need that are not nearly as deep... Edge and CB amongst them... steep drop in talent after first three guys in both.... it would behoove the Giants to draft one of these two positions early and wait on the pass catchers untill day 2 and day 3.

He’s a good athlete who takes up space on the field, big, strong physical, speed question, basketball background young but he does have a case of the drops. As good as most NFL WR’s are today that seems to be a common thing too many dropped passes. He’s not a top three or four rounds but he could surprise and boy are we desperate for WR’s. I don’t know if they will draft one early or try the FA route but we need to draft two or more we are definitely lacking at WR talent from top to bottom.
If Giants go Defense in round one

sure looks good

I like both Auburn guys too, from what I saw of Auburn this year their QB Nix was as inconsistent as heck and their offense looked like a Model T Ford in comparison to slicker more updated college Os.

But I think maybe both of us are pisitively biased towards these Auburn kids because of Slayton; at least I am.

I really believe if the Giants pick wisely they can grab a # WR in round 3 this year - guys with quick upside like a Terry McLaurin, who WTF nabbed in the 3rd round two years ago. Maybe not someone similar to McLaurin stylistically, but just as good all around.

I'm linking McLaurin's NFLDRAFT prospect profile just for shits and giggles: he was rated as a "competent backup level player."

Whoever wrote that should be fired on the spot if that's his or her usual work.

If you’re talking about a Round 2 WR. Great YAC receiver.

Maybe living in Atlanta and being able to watch on television almost every Alabama, Auburn, LSU, Florida, and UGA game may have something to do with it. Brugler, the Athletic’s draft guy, currently has Toney at 4 or 5, Marshall something like 7 or 8, and Williams 14th in a stacked draft class. He does not have Schwartz ranked in his top 20.
Mark in ATL..I have a question on Azeez Ojulari
Rick in Dallas : 1/16/2021 8:22 am : link
Please give me your thoughts on Ojulari who could in April be in play with our pick at number 11. He had an outstanding bowl game.
Thanks Mark
Rick - I didn’t see the Cincinnati game but saw all others.
Mark in ATL : 1/16/2021 8:53 am : link
Brugler really likes him. He has great quickness that pops at you but at 240 lbs he doesn’t have the power to bull rush or make similar moves, in my opinion at this point in time. I think he could be a Shaq Barrett type player in a couple of years. If the Giants had made it to the playoffs and had the 19th pick, I think they would have had more interest in the LB from Tulsa whose name escapes me. Sounded like Brugler thought that the UGA kid could go top 20. I could see the Giants drafting one of the 3 UGA cornerbacks outside of the first round. They all in the Bradberry size range. Campbell may be a first rounder though with Stokes going in rounds 2-3.
Correction
Mark in ATL : 1/16/2021 9:13 am : link
In Brugler’s latest mock draft, take it for what it’s worth, he has the Giants picking Pitts @ 11. He has Tyson Campbell the UGA CB going @ 21, Zavon Collins the Tulsa LB @ 22, and Ojulari @ 23. He has the Giants picking Wake Forest’s Edge Carlos Basham in round 2

I think people expecting the Giants to go after an edge rusher early are going to be very disappointed.

CB and WR are much more likely.
