Is there a reasonably priced FA CB

HopePhil and Optimistic : 1/16/2021 5:09 pm
You’d bring in for under $10 mil AAV?

I don’t trust Spotrac but they seem to have William Jackson III and Xavier Rhodes in the $7-9 mil range. Top of the market CBs at $14-15 mil are considerably less than Edge players at 18-20.

Any holes we can fill with reasonable contracts in FA gives us more flexibility in the draft.

Thoughts?
I think Jordan Lewis

From the Cowboys is a UFA .... I think he’s a solid player
I haven't seen much of him lately

But Rhodes has been really bad the times I have seen him over the last few years. No thanks.

I loved Jourdan Lewis coming out. I imagine he's more of a slot guy though.
And Jordan Lewis is only 26 yo

A young player entering his prime would seem preferable to a vet 30 or older.

The other cowboy Awuzie is also a FA, as is ex Eagle and Jag Sidney Jones.

Michael Davis of the Chargers fits that description.
Apparently Rhodes had a bounce back season

After a couple of poor ones. But he is 31 and probably not what we’re looking for.
M Davis is also 26

And coming off a one year deal at 3.259 mil after a 3 year I’d FA contact.

I hope Judge and Graham can find one of these types of guys that excels in man coverage to be our #2 CB. Sign one and draft one. Build depth and ability to mix and match on a weekly basis based on opponent.
The Cowboys DBs are terrible

That was one of the worst secondaries in the league. We’re better off to count on Quincy Wilson, Yiadom and Love.
I'd be interested in Kevin King...

At the right price.
Lewis

Week 17;He was penalized for head butting giant receiver after the play. No thanks on Jorda Lewis.
I’d like them to give

Julian Love a fair crack at the starting job opposite Bradberry but let’s bring in some competition and make him earn it.
Hard pass on both Awuzie and Lewis

Cowboy will probably let them both walk plus Xavier Woods.
I agree that Love should be given serious look at the other CB position.

Me, too. I've touted him a few times this year. He always looks solid to me, but apparently he's had a mixed year. His running mate Alexander has been a total stud.

If cap goes down. Just like Logan Ryan. If your patient you can find bargins
Really, I Think Keeping Yiadom

is the best solution unless a top player falls to us in the draft. Secondary was not too bad last year and WR, TE, and LB need impact players.
Two guys not mentioned yet:
Vin_Cuccs : 1/16/2021 9:15 pm : link
Mackenzie Alexander and Mike Hilton.

Hilton is a really interesting option, but he’s more of a slot player.
Not sure yet or if I’d bother if the draft has a bunch

of red chippers. “For the right price” really doesn’t exist all that much anymore, not for a young, promising CB, imv. You might get one on a prove it like deal, but that’s about it. And yes, there are always exceptions.

Mackenzie Alexander is a slot guy. The couple guys i saw of his this year, he was excellent!

Williams Jr has ton of potential and as a rookie looked like a shutdown corner. If Spotrac's numbers are accurate it would be a no brainer, but why would the Bengals not resign him??
They are more likely to find someone that isn't even available yet

there will be CAP casualties this year, and I would suspect that's where you'll find your best bargain.
