or at least play more meaningful minutes. The team looks so much better when he's on the floor. Spacing's better, guys get better looks. It's obvious to everyone.
So, Knick fans already bailing on Thibs?

This lineup is killing the team

As much as this isn’t going to sit well with BBI knick fans I feel dealing Randle ASAP before his value tanks

Getting Obi into starting lineup along with IQ is key

Robinson
Obi
Knox
RJ
IQ

Have Rivers Burke Noel coming off Bench

Further. I may be dreaming but hopefully Leon can work a deal to get Beal

It’s really not ridiculous at all. Guys that you want to play more are playing more and more minutes and will continue to play more minutes as they improve and get more comfy. IQ is also a rookie. Don’t worry so much about who’s starting and who’s coming off the bench. The team is still winning more games than anyone here expected. They might even win today.

Thibs is likely trying to learn as much as he can about every player he has here. You guys are freaking out over his usage early on in year 1. Think about that.
Definately time to take Quickley out

He was too hot. Put that turd Payton back in the game to see if he can set the NBA record for missed 2 footers in a game.

Why are you assuming that an excellent player right now is going to regress? Why? Here’s the facts about Randle.

— he’s always been a talent

— he’s always been a productive scorer

— always been a productive rebounder

— always had the ability to bring the ball up

— always has the ability to pass

— never played for a good HC in the nba

If every GM dealt players away out of a fear that the player was going to regress, we’d have one weird league.

We finally might have stepped in shit and fans want to get rid of the guy. Unbelievable.
there is a development curve
RAIN : 1/17/2021 2:15 pm : link
players playing unlimited minutes, going beyond what is planned is risky.

The body gets tired, it will sacrifice hard won technique and smart habits. I'm seeing a really well coached team (from last year) that Thibs is the author of.

Calling or questioning a coach, with this team, and track record, is not wise. This team looks light years ahead of last year.

If you give a young player unlimited run... you risk un-doing positives they incorporate into game time decision making. Knox, for instance, needs to develop good habits and work rate to play. He needs minutes too. Its a delicate balance.

If a player knows what to expect in their window of minutes, it will bear more time over the course of the season, not a couple weeks.

Yea really dumb take. Guy has post game, can shoot mid to 3, great on the boards, I am not into him bringing the ball up as many here are, but he can certainly handle it on the break. He is a below average to poor passer (gets tunnel vision a lot) and his defense is below average.

He is a fine player. He is Zach Randolph with a handle.

You

ARE

OUT

OF YOUR MIND

I would trade both RJ Barrett AND Obi Toppen for Ruben Randle's productivity. Those are both high first rounders and they are unknowns. Likewise, nobody is trading a high pick when guys like Zion, Morant, Doncic, Trae Young and Fox are potentially available.

Just stop. RR is a 26 year old production machine who shares the rock. He is an excellent modern day stretch 4.

Oh is it now? Can you guarantee that? Nope.

Also, why can’t we have two good forwards here in obi and Randle? This is of course predicated on the assumption that Obi is in fact a good player one day and not another Kenny sky walker....

I would argue that because we cant guard true 3s with either let alone both those guys on the floor.

They both bring different elements I guess, but both are below avg on D. Randle (Julius) is better as of now, but Obi is not evaluated as of yet, but projected to be poor

If it brought back a blue chip prospect? I’m talking stud prospect not the 7th pick in a 4 player draft, yeah I’d have to consider it.

You ain’t getting that kind of draft pick back for Randle because no team picking 1-2-3 is looking for a player like Randle.
That was a great way to break out of a losing streak. And it was

So the next discussion is, what do you consider a "stud prospect"? Because the last 3 years, Randle is averaging over 20 pts per game, 9 boards and 3 assists (almost 7 this year). That is better than Zach Randolph who was a big part of two perennial playoff teams in Portland and Memphis. He also is a slightly better defender. Lets also mention that JR has missed no more than 9 games in a season since he started playing.

Right now, would you trade Randle for say, LaMelo Ball? Because I wouldnt. I would trade him and a 1st for Jayson Tatum.
