Why the fuck would he wants to go to the Jets? And Watson has been pushing social justice and equality. He's pissed the Texans wouldn't interview Bienemy and Saleh. So he's ginna force a trade to the shitty Jets with an owner who has made racist comments? Also, he wants to win. Again, how is that the Jets. The Jets will be used to increase the the draft compensation from a team like Miami or SF imo.

Bienemy said he won't interview while KC is still playing, it has nothing to do with McNair or Caserio.
From what i read if they don't hire a coach before the SB (assuming KC wins next week) they plan to interview bienemy.
They have interviewed 4 candidates so far, two are black.

It’s not outlandish and it’s coming from his camp not the Texans. He is a big fan of Saleh and LaFleur. Jets have tons of cap space and would probably let him pick some weapons to bring in on offense. Jets are desperate enough they’d probably let him run the team which seems to be what he wants.

I disagree with this. He wanted Saleh interviewed by the Texans. That's a far cry from thinking he is going to be great at running a franchise. The Jets have cap room before they take on his contract. Also, the only reason he wants to be included in the hiring of a a coach is because he was told by ownership that they would do that for him. He's not going to the Jets because he wants to run the team. I don't buy that at all. He wants to win first and foremost. Why force his way from one shitty franchise to another? Doesn't make sense to me. I doubt Watson is sitting at home saying fuck the Texans. What team can I go to? Oh, I know, the Jets.
the Jets give Houston their #1, #2 next year, #1 in 2023, and #1 in 2024. Obviously speculation, but it will take a massive pkg
I don’t think you can trade future picks that far out behind next years. It would probably cost the #2, a 2nd rounder this year, the 1 next year and probably include Darnold and a couple other mid round picks and pick swaps next year. Keep in mind Jets have Seattle’s 1 this year and next.
I would not be upset if Big Blue could get into the Watson talk, but that contract is probably prohibitive.
Huh?? The contract isn’t a factor at all. He’s a highly paid star qb. He should be highly paid. If the giants don’t want Watson because of his contract we might as well pack it up and follow another sport.

truly. they don't want to pay a stud QB bc they make too much? I ask them, do they like watching playoff games?
He’s coming off a major knee injury and heading into his 4th year of his rookie contract. No way the Texans would want him.
You may be right. But it would be my opening salvo.
Like Terps just said, the Texans could use help putting asses in seats. If SB checks out health wise - in terms of where he is in the process - maybe the Texas bite...
The Texans aren't the brightest bulb in the league chandelier.
But the Texans would need to make a tough decision to pay him a year in. Jones & Darnold are pretty much the same, it’s about the draft picks that would come with it.
Miami looks like they have enough to get the deal done, just depends on how they feel about Tua,
If they’re sold on him, they keep pass on Watson, keep all their picks and build around him. If not, trade him and some of those picks to get Watson. They definitely have enough to get it done if they want.
That we should trade Daniel Jones for Watson straight up. Also the Texans should throw in a draft pick because we’re taking on his contract. LMFAO.
And whoever thinks I’m lying here is the thread 2nd post on this thread - ( New Window )
Why would we do that when we can get Mahomes and Kelce for Jones? After all, Jones is on a rookie deal and he's the goods, going to be a perennial top-10 QB.
I don't see why Houston would trade him. Even if Houston announced they were going to trade him, I would be shocked if the Giants were the team to trade for him.
Dallas trades Amari Cooper(age 26), Ezekiel Elliott(age 25) and two number ones for Watson.
Dallas then places the non exclusive tag on Prescott. Prescott can then shop around and with all the QB openings this year he will be able to get the deal he wants and Dallas will recoup their two number ones.
Or Dallas can do a sign and trade with Houston for Prescott, Elliott, and Cooper for Watson.
Dallas has 10 draft picks this year, including two 3rds, two 4ths, and two 5ths. With that draft capital they could start to restructure their roster.

That would pretty much gut the Cowboys core which I would be all for

This could be why...
Also on NFL Countdown, Chris Mortensen noted a source said “that unless [Texans CEO] Cal McNair can fire himself, Deshaun Watson is not about to change his mind that he does not want anything to do with the Texans going forward.”
I could see Belichek going all in too but I don't think they have the draft ammo.
Philly cannot fit him in because of their cap disaster.

Agreed. I think it’s Miami or the Jets. I think Texans would prefer to trade him into NFC but they’ll take the best draft haul they can get.

Nah we should trade for Lamar and extend him, what a stud🤣

No, he's complete trash and can't complete a sentence.
Now this I agree with, but I don't think we have the best offer unless we gave up like 3 1st round picks
Watson is a great QB who is only 25. Daniel Jones is about to turn 24.
I would give up Jones, Barkley, and at least one first.
Let's review these career #s to date:
68% completion rate, 70+ QBR, an outstanding 8.3 YPA, and 104/36 TD/INT.
That's just good???

That ain't getting it done. If it did, run to the phone before Houston changes their minds.
Why does Philly or even Miami have the ammo but not the giants ?
And why does tua have all this value while jones doesn’t? Wtf has tua shown?

Always start a bit low... ;)
Then go BAFO.
Seriously, what else would you add in?

Jones, Barkley, 2 firsts maybe gets it done. Given Gettleman's track record with first round picks I'm fine making that deal.

I agree that wouldn't get it done.
But why would Watson agree to come to the Giants if he has a NT clause.

Name value? I don't know why they would either. Doing this exercise shows how bare the cupboard is. Why would they want Jones?

Fair question.
I would counter it's the NY market - and I get that that is a bit overrated - and the Giants are a flagship org.

Yeah but he's only 1-2 in the playoffs, so there's clearly a contingent here who believes he's no good.

That would be the smartest move the Jets could make, therefore it won't ever happen.

Every gman fan would be on cloud 9 if we had LJ, but there's no chance we can land a perennial MVP candidate obviously.

Perennial postseason pathetic choker!
