Was much more to WFT releasing Haskins than OTF play, and ability. It can be reasonably argued that WFT still remains committed to Haskins without the Character issues. Not the same.
the WFT would be in QB hell for the next few years, unfort it looks like they found one by accident
They identified a problem and didn't cling to a sunk cost.
Are you saying they solved the problem?? With the way Nick Mullens was elevated to Montana-like status, I'm assuming Heinecke is ascending that same hill now?

Who is this QB exactly?
The kid who played in the playoff game, whatever his name was. and listen i'm not saying he's the answer and it was only one game. But he at least is going to get a shot to win the starting job for them next year. I think Alex Smith is done...
Haha. I didn't see your post. I've never heard of the dude.
I suspect most Giants fans never heard of him - kind of like Joe Judge - I live in Boston metro and had never heard of him before he was a candidate for the Giants HC.

I'm saying they nipped a problem in the bud.
Mullens isn't Montana. Just better (and cheaper) than Jones. Very, very low bar.

Only to continue to try to find a younger version of him by hiring his former assistants.
Wow Deuce has been in house for years and has an Asst HC title, but they hire this guy?
That Roomey Rule isn’t too much worth the paper it’s written on. How many McVay assistants have gotten jobs? At least two I believe. And Bienemy (sp?) and Deuce can’t get a crack? They throw this out idea that they haven’t called plays, but was Dan Campbell calling them in NO, Zach Taylor and Lafleur when they were with the Rams, and Sirianni who has never called plays.
Not mention Dan Campbell like he's a positional coach and nothing else. He had the assistant title and coached the Dolphins for 12 games a few years ago.
I imagine when the Giants are QB shopping next year that most of the posters giving me shit now will whitewash all this and act like they were saying Jones stunk the whole time. It's a BBI phenomenon I'm familiar with.
When he was hired the first thing that came to my mind
was the old Howard Stern clip when Jackie apologized to his wife that they played over and over "I would like to apologize to my wife Nancy SIRIANNI Martling"

Dude, let's see how next season goes before we cast Jones aside. Gun to head, I think you're probably right in that DJ isn't the answer, but we should all hope he is.
Of course. We all want the same thing. Talking about what we hope happens...is that what we want to be doing? I'd rather try to understand why the team blows.
So why do you continually ignore and discount what he's said about Jones?
Either you trust his opinion and information or not.
+1000. Loves to talk out of both sides of his mouth. Same with the Lamar Jackson situation. “I’d be ok with Baltimore paying him... or teasing him.” Mmmkay.

Judge has nothing to gain by knocking Jones. Why would he?
by endorsing and saying w/o any prompting Jones was his guy and speaking in glowing terms about him.
Judge likes Jones, probably for the reasons I mentioned way back when.
And because he likes him, he's going to keep him and help him.
So again, I ask you. If you like and trust Judge as a coach to do what's necessary to make this a winning franchise again, why are you so adamantly opposed to his take on Jones?

Charles : it might be a case of Judge taking an optimistic viewpoint on Jones while suppressing his doubt. Coaches do that . Remember Fassel .
What he said first about Dave Brown and then Dan Kannell .
I’m in Jones’s corner . I think he can be as good as Eli . The running aspect is a huge bonus as far as I’m concerned . He’s accurate on the most difficult throws . That’s telling But it’s not everything . And Judge has plenty of time to change his mind , which is another thing coaches frequently do .
Meanwhile , might have to get a Cane DE , I suppose .

I don't believe Judge when it comes to Jones. It doesn't add up. He didn't draft Jones; he inherited him. And in his first year as coach, Jones was absolutely dreadful.
I'll believe Judge is calling the shots when I see evidence of it. Until then, he's a good coach (possibly a really good coach) who's trying to cope with the bad GM, bad offensive coordinator, and bad quarterback that have been foisted on him.
His comments absolutely add up when you factor in his comments on what he's looking for in a QB. Look at the QB's he's been around with Saban and Belicheck. Yes Brady is the GOAT of the Modern Age but Brady's off the field demeanor and leadership are the qualities least talked about.
Those are also the qualities that Saban looks for in his QB's.

Sounded like a 15 year old with no public speaking experience giving an introductory press conference. If he weren't an Eagle, I'd feel bad for him. Judge will eat his lunch.

That was pretty rough. He just kept repeating his points 4-5 times and then had a lot of uncomfortable pauses. It was like this a bit:
We're going to communicate. We're going to communicate as a team. We're going to communicate frequently. We're going to make communication a priority. {pause} {more pause}
I'm going to stress toughness. I'm going to stress toughness day in and out. We'll be tough. I'm looking for toughness

I just heard him say "we're going to be multiple". I guess that's the trend. But when Judge said it, there was weight behind it.
Meaning, they put much more trust in the front office and want the front office to carry the head coach. This is common in baseball and correlates with an analytic heavy organization.
While that works for baseball, the NFL is different. This is and will always be a head coach league imo.

If we'd just get our shit together...
Really fucking frustrating, they need to have an epic offseason in FA and the draft.
The problem is the fans of the other teams are looking at us and saying, "Man this division is ripe for the taking".
They identified a problem and didn't cling to a sunk cost.
Who is this QB exactly?

To be fair, the problem identified itself alot quicker and alot more clearly than the potential problem the Giants have (or don't have).
You guys were putting Daniel Jones in Canton after his debut against Tampa Bay only to wanting him replaced by other teams backups. Lol.
me either.
No one said otherwise

but just for clarification, I posted this without comment.
I have never heard of Nick Sirianni until I read the tweets mentioning him.....

You truly are a pathetic soul. It is just maddening that you can't get one fucking post in without knocking Jones.

Is acknowledging you don't have one. If WFT has acknowledged that, then yeah they're ahead of us at QB.

I'll simplify for you: next year we're going to be where WFT is at QB.
