They've been shifting most of their soccer coverage to peacock and behind a paywall. Probably will do the same of the NHL. They're going all in on their peacock plan. Whether it works or not is a different discussion.
When they moved Dan Patrick's broadcast to Peacock-only and off of NBCSN, that was probably a trial balloon to see if they could retain a large chunk of loyal viewership without relying on cable providers.
and if the NHL lets NBC take them behind a paywall they're complete idiots. I believe Peacock has some "free" streaming. I wonder if live NHL games would be free?

except the occasional Sunday noon PT on NBC and some key games on Peacock. Problem also w/Peacock, aside from paywall, have to jump through hoops to get it on your TV monitor, which I haven't figured out yet.
launch they were pushing a ton of EPL there, but its def been less since then.
ColHowPepper do you have any streaming device hooked up to your tv or does your tv have apps? The peacock app i believe is available everywhere. I have it on a firestick and appleTV but im sure its on roku, chromecast, etc...

I don't think it's available on FireTV. I have an Amazon stick on my office TV but have been streaming Peacock through Chromecast via my phone instead.
my bad your right. We have a fire stick in our office and i swore i had put peacock on there, but i hadnt. Ive only used it on the appleTV we have. Also seems that it cant go on Roku at the moment either. I guess its over advertising revenue splits and stuff like that, but if your trying to appeal to cord cutters im not sure making it hard to use on firetv or roku is a smart move, lol.

I'm pretty sure it is available on Roku - I have a TCL/Roku TV that I'm fairly certain I was able to add Peacock to, but I can't swear to it. I just know for sure that the Firestick doesn't have it (yet).
... as Optimum is dropping one of my "promotions" next month but restricting my overall increase to $20. I save $149.00/mo.!! What BS. On top of which, I'm in a building that is not wired for Fios, so I haven't got any leverage to negotiate with. Not that I like the Fios TV structure-by-content. Maybe this will force me to "cut the cord" -- but I almost literally can't under these circumstances; all I can do is drop TV from my Optimum bundle, and they way they set up Internet + Phone (if I keep a land line), I might save just enough $$$ to add one streaming service. Blech.

Was furious last week when Manchester United / Liverpool was on Peacock. Same strategy ESPN pulled with Serie A and it had the opposite effect for me - I haven't thought much about Serie A since.
I watch a lot of soccer and they still seem to show more on NBCSN
I can’t imagine the NHL would allow for that. I’d expect FOX to jump back in to the NHL market
Nobody cares.
What a dumb reason to get banned for a political post.

But how will I watch every episode of Chicago PD that I’ve already seen 9,000 times?
