Rewatching SB 42 with my son...2nd QTR fumbles..

As I'm rewatching the game I wonder if Plaxico's catch and drop (ruled incomplete) in today's game would have been ruled a fumble. (23:30 in the video linked)

Also, Bradshaw fumbles a handoff from Manning, and appears the Pats recover and are down, however refs thankfully rule Giants ball because AB comes out of the pile with it. I can imagine today's replay awarding the ball to the Pats. (32:00 mark)

Thoughts?

Plax's drop would still be incomplete, IMO.

It didn't look like he made a football move, and didn't have the ball under control when he got hit.

It's hard to see in the Bradshaw fumble, but the Pats player fell on it but didn't get it secured. In the replay, you can see Bradshaw's glove on the ball first. Terrific effort by Bradshaw.

What day is it, time, and who are the refs making the decisions? Those matter way more than what the rules say because nobody can be consistent.

but we did get lucky to keep the ball there maintaining possession I thought at the time and again rewatching that great fucking game!
