After reading the latest athletic article on all the possible QB movement
In the off season, there sure seems like there may be a lot of high priced decent quality veterans that are gonna have to be cut
Our cap situation isn’t great, but we have plenty of future maneuvering ability as discussed in previous posts. May be able to grab that quality veteran 2nd cb, capable ER or Olineman or WR in FA, resign L Williams before going into draft to hopefully close most of the holes and set us up for 2022 also.
The Giants would sign a FA WR, CB, and ER who will improve what we have.
The Giants would draft BPA with a focus on WR, ER/LB, CB, OL
Yes we need players, but many current players on this team should be a little bit more seasoned and ready for a larger role by September 2021.
The 2005 Giants would have been better even if they don't add Plaxico, McKenzie and Pierce. Those players were essential to the cause, but they didn't help the Giants go from 6 to 11 wins on their own. The entire franchise was better in 05. I am hopeful that is what happens this time around as well. Add a vet or two. Re-sign the keepers. Draft BPA. Coach this roster. Win 10.
We’re actually in better shape than the cap position shows we have a bunch of ‘easy savings’ from mainly marginal or non-performers

So our position isn’t some outlier. And of those 13 we’re in the best shape. However, I think we will be somewhat limited in our ability to sign multiple big time FA. We’ll be in somewhat worse than last year I think so using that as a guide getting a couple of top FA (like our own DTs) might be all we can do.

Yes, I’m not worried.
I think there's a chance that there's some serious bargains.
I also think there will be a lot of guys looking for 1 year deals.

Totally agree. Every team has a Kevin Zeitler; guys that are very solid but are slightly overpaid for this offseasons cash strapped market. Teams will probably try and find ways to extend those guys but inevitably some of those guys will hit the market. The Giants would be wise to shave off as much cap space as they can because a lot of talent will be available.

But nonetheless.....keep sawing wood. Add pieces as you see fit, but focus on keeping things going.
It's why I'd be OK franchising Williams another year if we can't work out a deal + resigning Tomlinson.
