Knicks are 8-11, just after the quarter mark of the season and finished their "hard" part kf the schedule. Now a bunch of home games to finish the first half of thr season.
Better start then anyone of us have thought.
Randle: Looks a little tired towards the end of the road trip, but still playing well, 22 10 and 5 on the season. Turnovers still an issue, need another guy to take the pressure off of him and Rj.
Rj Barrett: Rough start to the season, i was as hard on him as anyone on here, but he has really started to play good consistent basketball. Not settling for 3, making the wide open ones. Still has some things to work on but playing very well as the number 2.
Immanuel Quickley: Still a little up and down, he is a bit of chucker but you love it when his shot is falling and i think it will fall more than it wont. He is not a true point guard but in todays NBA he can play the 1. I look for him to keep getting more minutes.
Mitchell Robinson: Good shot blocker, good rebounder, everything else meh. I think he is good at what he is, i dont think he is some untouchable player, in todays NBA you wonder whats his role..
Obi Toppin: injury has hurt him trying to find his spot on this team, you see moments and go damn and then you see moments and go WTF? & gt; do think his jumper will be mlre reliable as he gets more comfortable, need a point guard to unlock him.
Nerlens Noel: Good for ehat he is, back up big, has some moments you shake your head, but in his role he has value.
Austin Rivers: This is him, some games you are like how is he making on 3 million and some games you are going to say thank god it is only 3 million. I think he brings value to this team and i think he should start at point until Quickley is ready.
Alec Burks: Injiry hurt him and this team, he was rolling to start the season, best 3 point shooter on this team, and hopefully as he gets going again we see that player from thr start.
Elfrid, Knox, Bullock: Go the fuck away.
I expect trade rumors to start swirling because i think Rose and Thibs do not want to give up on this season and as long as they are close to the playoffs, they will make moves to help make this team better, i dont see selling off of vets
To this untrained eye Oladipo looked like a safe bet even over the first week or two of this season. He wasn't scoring that much but he had his step and looked active out there. He's a good player and looks to be back. He'd fill a hole here that's for sure.
It’s uncertain whether Chicago is listening to offers on LaVine but the Knicks have some draft capital that might intrigue the Bulls, Begley notes. New York owns its future first-rounders and has 2021 and 2023 first-rounders coming from the Mavericks from the Kristaps Porzingis deal, though the latter of those picks has protections.
The Bulls would likely ask for another young star in any deal involving LaVine, Begley presumes.
An Immanuel Quickley-LaVine could be the Knicks’ long-term solution in the backcourt, provided they re-signed him.
LaVine, 25, becomes an unrestricted free agent in the summer of 2022. He’s making $19.5MM this season and the same next season. He might seek max money, or close to it, in his next contract.
IQ
Lavine
RJ
Randle
Mitch
With whatever draft capital we still have and im not doing the math, but id think we would still have a descent amount of capspace this offseason before having to resign Lavine and Randle in 2022.
they will do it and you will like it!

I'm on board with this. Lavine is playing like an All Star, and I agree is closer to Beal than not, but may be able to be acquired at a much cheaper price.
Obi, Frank, 2021 NYK 1st and 2023 Dal 1st. Is that enough to get it done?
Probably tough to do without Mitch and/or RJ in there, but Obi fits a clear need assuming Lauri isn't the guy there long term, and Lavine and Thibs have a positive history together.
For that, I would. And I guess I'd end up talking myself into Lavine.
It is Payton, he kills everything
Rapidly getting to the point where I am tired of getting big minutes.

So you harp on his only 2 bad plays?
Im with clyde i hate that foul

Is Toppin supposed to take those minutes? Because he looks completely lost. Not encouraging given his age

Doesnt get back on defense on transition and then shitty O foul.

What does his age have to do with anything, he still only played 2 years of college..
Just because he is 22 doesnt mean he should be expected to come in right away

lol he has 3 assists and 3 boards and 1 turnover and just took his first shot..
you overanylyzing him now
Agreed, but I'm more worried about his foot speed. I thought he'd be a monster in the paint, but so far he's been disappointing. At best, he's Amare.

Thanks nygiants....I was on delay watching the game, but isnt he supposed to be playing like an all star? Barretts carried the team, not JR.

They have Let Rj handle a lot this game
I still like him, but he is playing the game like he is Carmelo Anthony minus the shots. And all the Knick announcers can talk about is his potential triple double.

Some of his assists i agree, others are good set ups..
His rebounding is really good, he knows how to attack a board
