GBN has 4 QBs ranked in the Top 10, and let's hope they're all selected before the Giants pick.
One name that caught my eye: DE Jaelan Phillips out of Miami (ranked #10.) Could the Giants call his name with the 11th pick? Certainly a desperate need for the Giants, and here's a guy that sheds / slips off blockers, and also has a devastating inside move. And if he brings a little attitude to our pass rush, all the better -- we could surely use it.
Here is breakdown by position. I've been crying for WR at #11, and surely this Draft is deep at that position. Then, again, if we find a bona fide pass rusher with first pick, who would bitch about that?
WR 17
CB 14
OLB 11
OT 9
DE 8
DT 7
S 7
OG 6
QB 6
ILB 4
RB 4
TE 4
C 3

I wouldn't mind going ER/DL/CB/OL with our first four picks. We need to add to the depth on O playmakers though.
As an aside, if the Giants grab one of these speed WRs early and don’t build up the OL with someone good (or maybe 2 good linemen), it’s going to be frustrating watching guys get open and Jones running for his life or flat on his back or throwing the ball away.
You should find it odd. ACC is not even a good conference. Insanely top heavy. Wouldn't touch either of those guys at 11. Will be a lot of better players than either of those two at 11. Hard pass on both

He is an interesting story. Has Chase Young talent, but you can’t hid from the injury concerns. Seem like a good kid also. Watch his story here......

That Miami would have the top 2 DEs in the country? I know at least one opted out last season, but did they have a ridiculous pass rush? It just seems like one elevated the other. This is just pure speculation on my part. I haven’t watched Miami at all.

Check your facts, when you false report it weakens your point of view. FYI they never played together. In fact they both had the same jersey number #15.
Though I’m hopeful Landon Dickerson falls to them at that spot.
Outside of 5 blue chip players ....talent flattens out....get some extra top 50 picks...
WR
Corner
G
Edge
2 way TE

Well, admittedly I haven’t watched Miami football as I stated in my post. I just find it statistically improbable that Miami would have the #1 AND #2 DEs in the country. Could there be other factors that contributed to their success that is not being accounted for? Was there an underrated interior lineman that contributed to their success? Scheme? Match ups? Poor WR/good DB matchups that created more time/opportunity for sacks? I’m just curious. Even if it was Clemson I’d be skeptical.
Wellington Mara would have been in his element reading draft magazines.
are all these guys local recruits?
Choose Miami because of their music program. It’s all in the doc video I linked earlier.

I tend to agree with the thinking of adding WR during free agency as you just don't know how the draft could fall. That gives Dave Gettleman some flexibility to go in numerous directions on day 1 and day 2 of draft.
Besides, Daniel Jones is going to need at least two new receiving targets in his critical 3rd year, and the prudent play may not have both of them be rookies.
Walter Football says they're both versatile to scheme.
Rousseau vs. Phillips
Although, with that nexus of blue chippers (or near BC) available, there's no way in HELL, DG would trade down.
He'll be in LOVE with someone among them!
I'd take Parsons or Pitts from among them, two true freaks w/out injury histories.
Farley is faster, Surtain is more of a technique guy. Surtain is really solid in his fundamentals, and is a terrific tackler. Farley is the more explosive athlete, but missed the last 2 games of 2019 with back surgery, and sat out this past year.
It will come down to how Surtain tests. If he can run a sub-4.5 and do well in short burst drills, I think he is the first CB off the board.

Farley and Surtain. Both are similar size. Draft scout seems to think Farley has elite speed while Surtain doesn't.

Marshall -- I'm guessing it's 70-30 he's taken early 2nd.
Then I expect a run on WRs in the late 2nd and 3rd rounds, with Rondale Moore, Elijah Moore, Tutu Atwell, Seth Williams, Nico Collins, Sage Surratt and others flying off the board. Maybe one of those guys is available in the 4th, but it's a long shot, and if so, it's probably because of an injury concern.
So many needs, so few picks.
Phillips. He actually played some last season. Phillips also has some great pass rush moves, unlike Rousseau who just relied on speed.

Thought I read he’s had issues with concussions. If that’s true, cross him off the wish list.

Was concussion free last season. Still a tremendous talent.

Thanks for this.

This draft board will change and change and change each week. We know that cause writers have to write something to generate revenue and clicks.
I want an impact playmaker at #11 and a starter in the 2nd round as well.
If we went WR and he catches say 75-1100-8 as a rookie #1 we'd be in great shape for the future. It happens but its not the norm.
Say we surprise and take an OG in round #2 and he is the next Chris Snee, starting over Hernandez as a rookie as Zeitler is cut (forcing the pick perhaps?) would you be mad? Not me, great players are needed everywhere.
If in round 3 we took a top RB who is a 1000 yard ability type rusher as a rookie would we be wrong given Barkley's injuries? Nope.

Any ONE of those choices would be fine, but all 3, taken together, should earn DG a swift kick in the nuts from Patrick Graham, don't you think?
Phillips has some of that JJ Watt/Joey Bosa type game from the edge. He would fit nicely on the left edge of the defense.
