So with season over we go to offseason player evaluation and prep for FA and draft. With the poor drafting over many years and such a weak roster of quality players, when is the Front Office staff held accountable? Not just the GM, as there have been thousand posts that Gettie should go, but when are the scouts and personnel evaluators - reviewed for their performance? I feel we actually have coaches that now teach and coach up so I think things are looking up. But how does this team ensure they select higher quality players? Does anyone have a read or reference as to the scouting cycle of the FO and when would you expect to see a turnover and hire of a new group. TIA
2) yes these coaches teach - chances are they get better results with drafts then in the past with Judges staff. And if they don't he fires the coaches
One counter to that would be Mark Koncz, who was always with the Panthers before Gettleman brought him over.
And 2nd year with the coaching staff.
Everyone is coming back because ownership felt the team improved of the course of the season.
Brooklyn Dodgers manager Leo Durocher famously said,
"Nice Guys finish last."
Obviously, Durocher didn't know about the Jets, but there is still a great deal of truth in that quote.
The Giants didn't finish last this year, but everything else on the team has changed multiple times except for the ownership. That makes the Maras suspects in my book.
I don't know much about the Packers, but they seem to be doing okay with ownership being in the hands of thousands of non-participating of Green Bay stockholders.
I am NOT an expert in any of this, but I have experienced the misfortune of dealing with some very nice people who are less than competent at their chosen profession.
