Yet was living in a hotel room since late January?
I will be interested to see what transpired here
Exactly what I thought. I found it extremely odd that he was living in a hotel. I actually went back to look up some his extensions. He made some money in his time and now he's living in hotel? Hate to say it but drugs may be involved here.
When I lived in San Diego, that guy loved to party. He was always at bars going ham. A few times I ran into him, he would buy the entire bar a few rounds; people loved him. I fear this is a substance abuse issue.

He was just a big athlete who made plays down the field.
The thing that stood out to me on the ESPN article was that he was the Walter Payton Man of the Year nomination for the Bucs for 4 consecutive seasons. He was clearly doing some good things off the field to earn that kind of respect from the organization.
I remember the Chargers 09 game he had that late TD right in front of me. Of course, the Giants defense folded like a bunch of bitches. A jar of mayo could've been more useful than that garbage safety Michael Johnson. Left Webster out to hang. Eh. At least I got to see the World Series trophy.
My company's charitable foundation supported his Jackson in Action 83 Foundation, which supported a lot of single military moms and their children, especially here in the Tampa Bay area. Terrible loss of a great man who had a giving heart. RIP.
That garbage safety had one of the biggest plays in the nfc championship game in 07.
Refresh my memory.
Route - 4th quarter - McQuarters fumbled the punt return and it looked like the Packers had it - but Johnson dove it on the pile and punched it away from the guy and Hixon recovered.

An article I saw said his family reported him missing a week earlier.

Read the same thing, but that was on 2/11. The police located him at the hotel on 2/12 and cancelled the missing persons report. Found dead a couple of days later.

For what it's worth, I saw someone on Twitter claim he just got separated last month so...

RIP, he was way too young

Crazy ...
The story said no apparent signs of trauma. Does that mean "natural causes" ... at 38?
Vincent Jackson didnt commit suicide by shooting himself in the chest. Kind of a weird connection to make.

No, that means no visible indicators of bodily injury. Ligature marks, gunshot/stab wounds, bruising.
