Not what you WANT to happen, but your best guess at how this offseason unfolds based on DG and Judge's train of thought
Here is my guess:
1.) Re-sign Leo, let Dalvin walk. I'm not sure Giants will pay big money to keep both. It seems like LW is Gettleman's guy. Rumor is he'll be their priority. I don't see him letting LW walk after trading draft capital for him. Lawrence steps into NT role and Hill/Draft pick compete for the other DL spot, while Johnson is brought back for depth
2.) Sign WR Golladay. Mara and DG have both mentioned prioritizing getting DJ weapons this offseason. Rumors were circulating that DG called Detroit midseason about Golladay so the writing is on the wall In order to make this happen, Giants will need to make cuts (Tate, Solder, Mayo, Core, Toilolo) and extend/restructure (Zeitler, Bradberry?)- but they can definitely make it happen
3.) Draft CB Surtain in round 1. Last year, the Giants targeted polished players from top tier programs (Thomas, McKinney) that they are familiar with. Surtain is polished, has NFL ready technique. I also think the Judge comes from the Patriot school of thought where cover guys (Revis, Gilmore etc) are valued over dominant EDGE rushers. Surtain gives them a big time outside corner across from Bradberry, which will also allow Graham to play more man. He was forced to play more zone than he had in the past due to limitations across from Bradberry.
Target EDGE and WR on day 2. DL, RB, OL/TE on day 3.
If that’s the case (injury), a big pass
They will try to sign a big time WR....but might settle clustering some picks in draft.

Dupree would be a good pick up. He was dominant vs the Giants last year and had a great year up until the injury. I do think Pitt makes a big push to re-sign him although they have some work to do with the cap situation.
Toilolo will be released.
Beal will be releasd.
Pulley will be released.
Ebner will be released.
Lewis will be released.
Leo Williams will be signed to a 3 year contract with a total value (including incentives) of 55 million dollars, with 35-40 million guaranteed in the form of a signing bonus and a minimalized cap hit vs the 2021 cap.
Jabril Peppers will receive a 3 year contract extension keeping him in blue through the '22-'24 seasons, for about 35 mil total.
The rest, I'm running outta gas.
Long list of Cuts and Restructures.
Draft: If Parsons is there at 11, he's ours.
Round 2, look to trade down for multiple picks.
Rest of Draft, cluster WR, add a TE, CB, & OL
2. Don't fall into the "weapons" signing/drafting category for offenses in years past (reese).
3. Keep the OL pipeline going
This is why I don’t see us signing him. BB preaches availability. Judge is cut from the same cloth. You can’t win games from the trainers table. He’s not a guy id group in with ARob. It’s ARob and the rest. Golladay is too risky to sign IMO. He’ll demand a big big contract similar to what ARob might get. I would also consider a guy like Marvin jones. He’s 30 years old. You can try him on a one year deal or even give him a multi year deal at 8mm per. A better gamble as far as potential and cost is Corey davis. You draft waddle and sign Davis and take a flier on a WR again later in the draft now you have something.
Corey Davis
Waddle
Shepard
Slayton
Pettis
Late round draft pick
Solder retires - or possible June 1st cut
Tate released - time for a younger, taller alternative
Pulley released - sooner he's gone the better
Mayo released - let last year's 7th rounders replace him
Not sure:
Zeitler. Would like that 12 mill but there seems to be no viable replacement on the roster. Hernandez has either fallen out of favor with the coaches or doesn't fit Garrett's offense because he never rotated at RG.
You did say "Think"
Leonard Williams gets a long term and rightfully so ... Tomilson gets the tag.
Draft - WR or CB. whatever talent is there when we draft.
Free Agency ... - nothing is free.

Sorry Breeze - I re-read your WHOLE post and you were very specific. Glad I followed your initial instruction.
I fully believe we'll have a "suprise" trade this offseason, meaning a player that's on nobody's radar to get traded does.
Maybe because they thought he was available mid season. Now we have a number of other guys like ARob and Godwin that may be available that would rank higher on the wish list.

Yes I think all these are quite likely. I would add aggressively going after a #1 WR specifically in FA too. Maybe that's what you meant in your Tate comment.
At the end of the season, the message was the Giants need playmakers.
Both these guys fit the bill.
I think they look for impact in FA and it could come in the form of a Dupree or starting corner and/or even OL. And if the WRs in FA can't be had, but those other positions can be had, the Giants will sign that player or two and fill WR in the draft. I think they trust Judge and this staff to get the most out of the kids and early on, which would sooth their fears that WR doesn't necessarily need that instant vet influence.
Maybe I am over thinking it, but it's possible the vet FA WR isn't going to happen for any number of reasons. Can't let that stop you from improving the team, and there is the draft.
Last year the Giants got a lot of instant impact from the draft and that was in a year with little to no off-season and practice time. It stands to reason the Giants trust the coaching staff to do so again.
Nothing wrong with picking up a dynamic playmaker. He’s kind of a Swiss Army knife and can back up Barkley as well. He’s not the #1 that we’d be seeking, but he will clearly help the passing game and offense! If we grab Samuel, we then have to get our #1 in the draft. Cap-wise that may be the smartest move, unless we can somehow work a guy like ARob or Golladay into the cap.

It's really hard to minimize the cap hit in year 1 of a 3 year deal with that proportion of guaranteed money. You can amortize the signing bonus over a maximum of 5 years, and I expect the Giants to go to at least 4, possibly 5 for Williams for precisely that purpose. He's young enough to be potentially viable for at least 4 of those years, and possibly all 5.
(2) Resign Austin Johnson for depth.
(3) Release or not resign Tate, Mack, Board, Bachman, Dillon, Solder, Pulley, Toilolo, Smith, Morris, D. Lewis, Gallman, Gallman, Mayo, Fackrell, Downs, Sheard, R. Lewis, Beal, Ebner, and Hartage.
(4) Zeitler is not cut.
(5) Do not sign Golladay, Robinson, Davis, Fuller, or any other big name WR. Sign a mid tier WR instead and draft two WRs.
(6) Do not sign Dupree, especially since he tore his ACL late in the year.
(7) The Giants trade down in the first or second round and get another day two pick.

so you don't think they sign any unrestricted Free Agents in the market??

I think they'll sign a mid-tier WR, and a few other similar veterans at other positions.
I don't think Allen Robinson will come here. I'm not sure we will want Godwin.
Usually, I'd expect Golladay to get franchise tagged. However, with a decreased cap number this year, it is going to be extremely costly for any team to use a franchise tag. I think there's a better chance than normal he hits the open market and I think we'd be one of the key suitors for him.
Someone should tell his agent.

I think the Giants re-sign LW and let DT go.
I think Zeitler gets cut.
I don't think that the Giants are major players in FA for any of the "big named guys"...but sign multiple "mid-tier guys".
I think this might actually be (fingers-crossed) the year that DG finally trades down.

you cant release guy who is not under contract. Namely Pulley.

Sportrak shows him signed but OTC doesn't and neither does the BBI roster page.

DG is never going to trade down. Just get it out of your head.
Let's call our draft pick "X" - he will fall in full bloom love with X+1 prospects every year and hold out for a king's ransom for his pick no matter what. I don't want to get into the personality reads, but he's insecure, and he'll never deal with a team drafting a superstar in his slot. So he'll draft one of his X+1 full-bloom-lovers, and he'll gush about it at the folding table with the step and repeat behind him.
And he'll never be the guy that even semi-bluffs. It's not who he is. He doesn't have it in him. History is pretty certain on that by now.

Unless he got cut and re-signed to a shorter contract without anyone knowing about it, he's signed right now.
Sign Golladay
cut Tate
cut Solder
Cut Sheppard
Cut Pulley
Restructure Zeitler
restructure
At 11 in order if there, Waddle, Pitts, Surtain. if all gone drop down to late teens take Toney.

Come on man - people can change..even at the ripe 'ol age of 70 :)
I hear he's even using computers now!

The Giants were going to trade down last year in the second round if McKinney wasn't available. The trade was in place, and had already been worked out.
I nonetheless agree that the Giants are far less likely to trade down than almost any other team. They haven't done so since Accorsi traded down to get Kiwi. That must be some kind of record for the longest period of time for not having done so.
Many may disagree about a WR signing. Golladay may not be the best pick.
Why are some people so quick to cut all the veterans? I would have to see a dramatic lowering in contract $$ before I would think hard about cutting and replacing guys like Zeitler. He may be disappointing and only slightly better than average, bur he is still no worse than the 3rd best o-line starter.
Everyone over 30, should be on a team-friendly contract or a 1-year deal.
For the guys who want to cut Core, at least give the guy a chance to prove his worth. He hasn’t even played a game under his new contract.
Release:
Cody Core -re-sign veteran min
Kevin Zeitler
Golden Tate
Levine Toilolo
David Mayo
Re-sign: Leonard Williams and Wayne Gallman
Trade Evan Engram and a 6th round pick for a 3rd round pick.
Draft:
1st - DeVonta Smith
2nd- OL Alijah Vera-Tucker
3rd- LB Chazz Surratt
3rd - TE Brevin Jordan
4th - TE Hunter Long
FA signings:
LB Haasan Reddick 4 year deal
OT Kelvin Beachum 1 year deal
WR Nelson Agholor 2 year deal
QB Ryan Fitzpatrick 1 year deal
I would keep an eye on Curtis Samuel from Carolina. He would replace Tate and would help the offense greatly.
Keep LW offer Gallman $4 million or two years. Restructure Zeitler and cut or don't sign the rest
At the end of the season, the message was the Giants need playmakers.
Both these guys fit the bill.
I've also thought about those 2 guys as possible targets too. Can definitely see this happening, especially if Golladay is tagged and Gallman walks
