Golladay is a good player and would be an upgrade, but he'll have a big price tag, will be 28 next season, and has had injury issues.
WR's seem to be a dime a dozen in the draft these days. Might be better off cluster drafting WR's and using cap space to bring back both Leo/Dalvin or address other needs
Depending on where the staff stands on Peart as the starting RT in 2021, I really like the idea of Taylor Moton which I saw floated on twitter today
2 wrs in the first 4 rds
Allocate resources in FA to a decent OG, CB or ER
If wrs are going for 20 million, give me an OG and a cb for 25 million combined
I was really hoping he would be an option for us. I remember the asshat info from last November about us being interested in trading for him. Could still happen.
ARob shakes loose. Really not excited about many other FA WRs other than KGolladay and ARob. They need to get Jones a bonafide #1, hoping that can be ARob.
to Golladay, Goodwin, Robinson, and every other big name FA WR. Spend the money to resign Williams and if possible, Tomlinson. Sign a mid tier WR and then use a round 1 - 3 pick on another. We still have Slayton and Shepard.

After running compulsively running sims on PFN's mock draft simulator, here's what I learned:
(Yes, I know that this isn't real life, but the numbers are the numbers.)
Six picks isn't close to enough to address all the Giants' needs; one receiver isn't close to enough to address the problems on offense, either. So they'd better either trade down or sign free agents.
It's impossible to be on the clock at 11 without a premium prospect at a position of need remaining on the board. Owusu-Koamoah, Parsons, Surtain, Paye, Pitts, Chase, Smith, Waddle, Farley, Rousseau, Slater... that's more than 10 guys. Every time a QB gets drafted, one more of those guys falls to the Giants. If one of the top QBs is left on the board at 11, the Giants could get a haul for trading down. The question is: How far to trade down? And what do you need to get to feel good about moving back?
If you follow Sy's plan and go defense in the first two rounds, you can still get a very nice receiver or pair of receivers in rounds 3-5. If you are bound and determined to get a top WR prospect, you can sometimes get one in the first, and if you don't, you can sometimes get one in the second.
There will probably be a tempting OL prospect on the board at 42 along with a couple of tempting Edge prospects. Not always.
There are going to be a lot of very promising WR prospects available around the middle of the draft. It's not technically impossible for all the receivers the Giants would want to go off the board in rounds 1-2, but it's EXTREMELY unlikely. Most of Elijah Moore, Dyami Brown, Nico Collins, Seth Williams, Sage Surratt, Tutu Atwell and more will be there in the 3rd, probably the 4th, and maybe a few in the 5th. (There's still a lot of talent later but mostly guys who have holes in their game.) Some guys may be "overdrafted" in the early 3rd but gone by the early 4th, so don't sweat that. If you want a guy, go get him.
Depending on who you believe, apparently the Buccaneers are going to put the franchise tag on WR Chris Godwin.
Wouldnt that be kind of asinine given what they already have invested at receiver? I assume Gronk will come back to play with Brady, OJ Howard comes back, Shaq Barrett is a UFA, as is Levonte David, Suh....
Wouldnt it make more sense to spend the money on one of those players and/or even Brown at a discount than dumping 16.5 million for one year of Godwin?
Curtis Samuel is who I hope they go for. He would replace Tate and give is a player who makes plays and won't break the bank
Agree with this. Under utilized, improved every year and should cost much. Sign LW, make a run at Thuney, but Samuel + drafting another receiver in the 2nd or 3rd would be fine with me.

The worst thing the Giants could do was predetermine what they are going to do in the draft. If theey target the biggest positions of need - WR, ER, CB, OL - take the best player from those position groups still on the board. Don't overthink it.
Although FA signings could dictate how they approach the draft. Sign a FA WR, for example, and they could feel that WR isn't as dire a need. I think that would be a mistake, but what do I know?

I agree. The top of this draft is very fluid. Some teams will trade up to get QB prospects. There are going to be some studs on the board at #11, but which studs? Somebody will fall, but will it be a WR or a QB? Lawrence and Sewell go early, but beyond that it's unpredictable. The Giants would be foolish to decide exactly who they want; they should stick to their board.

And mess up what helped them win an NFL title? I'd keep Godwin at all costs if I am Tampa. He's probably their best WR and he's definitely their youngest. Brown is a lunatic and on the other side of 30. Evans is good, but he needs a counterpart.
OJ Howard and Gronk can both be replaced.
RE: Samuel fan here, he will drive a defense crazy

Who the hell said anything about drafting a few?
With 6 picks, cluster drafting could simply have meant taking 2 guys
Can he pay us??
He will end up being the biggest bust of the FA WR's
Quote:
How much would you offer Corey Davis to join the Giants?

Haha! Yeah Corey Davis would be the classic Gettleman FA signing nightmare. For the love of god, please don’t go their Giants.

Defensive coordinators won't be able to sleep trying to figure out how to defend an offense comprised entirely of slot WRs.
