We still have to see what the rules will be for the percentage of stands in the stadium. I'm going to assume that we will not be at 100% capacity by August so I'm sure there will be some kind of agreement. The Giants were one of the first teams to give full refunds or put off payments. They did right by the fans last year. I'm sure they will do the same this year. Too many variables at play right now.
It doesn’t look like there is an opt out option for 2021.
And to be honest, I think they are going to do everything in their power to have fans in seats across the league. The NFL is not interested in a second year or lost revenue.
I actually called the ticket office a few weeks ago, and at this point, they think they will be able to safely fill the stadium.
As far as selling the PSL’s...good luck. It doesn’t hurt to try but value is at an all time low.
If you aren’t interested in attending, selling individual game tickets would probably be the best option.
I was concerned about the possibility of fans being allowed back but me not being comfortable yet and what were my options. The Giants don't yet have an answer but he suggested opting for the (4) payment plan whereby the 1st installment is not due until May 1st. By then they may have more direction from the Governor/Giants. He also said if only a percentage are allowed back, they are unsure how they will decide who gets to go but the predominant thought is that it will be done by seniority. Either way, Giants almost always do right by the fans.
It's Not because of COVID. My kids have little kids now and it's going to be years before they go to a game. I'll just buy tix for a game at the sellers lose, like I've been loosing $$$ all these years...
I don't see how they are going to be filling the stadiums to 80k plus by September. I am going to the payment plan and hope by the time they start taking payments, there is a plan B. Not sure how it will all work based on what the capacity will be, but its probably the best way not to pay the full amount and allow for the Giants to figure out how to handle it. That said, I would have thought they had figured out some plan of action for 2021 based on the stadium bot being full. Season tickets and PSLs, the gift that keep s on giving.....
It is too soon for the team to make a decision on opting out...
the invoices are not due for another three months. Anyone in the Giants org making the decision to offer an opt out option on the website today should be fired.
This coming from a season ticket holder who really wants to opt out next season again
Everyone will have had a chance to get vaccinated by
that want vaccines will be able to do so by summer. I think they are believing that by April/May all the 65 and older and those with priority will be taken care of.
don't pay, is that considered an "opt out" or would they push to collect the money from you knowing they may struggle to resell those tickets.
Unless they offer opt-outs again this year, that would be forfeiting your tickets and psl. The team would probably show some patience because, as you say, they're not brimming with demand. But under normal circumstances, you can't just skip a year - you stop paying, you no longer have tickets or a psl.

I assume that's what mvftw is tryig to do, just walk away.
PSL's probably have no resale value and he wants to forfeit his tickets.
if it doesn't impact your credit might be the easiest way to do that if they don't offer an alternative.
Prices are all over the board regarding them so I bet if you wanted to re-coup any investment you could probably undercut the lowest price and see what happens.
They only allow the transfer in two windows a year so you have to see if you can still try and unload them before the season.
If you don't pay, I believe your PSL reverts back to the Giants for $0. link - ( New Window )
Selling the PSLs is not an option for my endzone mezzanine seats.
The last time I used the PSL exchanged, two years ago, I received an offer of $1,000 which would have netted me $500 after the Giants took their $500 administrative transfer fee.
I, obviously, didn't take the offer.
Re-upping just isn't in the cards for me. I can't take my wife, my son is uninterested in going, and, to be honest, the joy in going to games is just gone. I've been paying $2,700 a year to watch garbage football for the past four years and I'm just done.
The only good part for me is that I know the Giants are never going to sell the PSLs for those seats again, and they are never going go sell game seats as well. I know that they'll never do either because for the last five years, the six seats directly behind mine have been vacant.

I do not see how letting the PSL agreement expire would impact your credit rating.
To me, it’s not about safety. It’s about now that people realize how much of a pain in the ass it is to go to a football game, the tickets will not be worth half of their face value, even if we are 9-0 in November.
Why should I pay $137 for something I can get for 65?
your credit, it's just like forfeiting an asset from what I know.
I was referring to simply not paying your annual season ticket fees and I was unclear if that could impact credit. Mainly because I'm not sure how it works.
I'm not sure how that transaction is handled by the season ticket owner and the team. As in if it's a contract where the customer has to pay the team per the contract and if not the team pursues collections, etc.
Or if it's just a "you don't pay you don't get the tickets" situation. I can imagine non-payment for season tickets it probably not that uncommon in the pandemic.

Yeah, you're under no obligation to buy, it's not a liability you have to the team where there are consequences if you don't pay, other than simply losing your tickets. The PSL purchase was just buying the right to buy tickets. It wasn't entering into a commitment to buy tickets into the future.
Waiting for a response...
We have had tix in the family since '56, but the Good 'ol Days are long gone. I will take the grand kids when there are of age, but to pay $2k+ every year for this...I don't believe Mara really gives a shit about us anyway...

He'll start giving a shit once enough people tell him to take his PSLs and stick them where the sun doesn't shine.
RE: Everyone will have had a chance to get vaccinated by
If you choose not to pay for your tickets this upcoming season, you forfeit your PSL and cannot just get tickets for the 2022 season. You would have to buy a new PSL or buy tickets via Stubhub or other. This is specifically addressed in your PSL agreement.

Yep, part of the agreement is paying for season tickets every year....otherwise you lose your PSL.
Last year they kept moving the due date for payment, before finally they realized per State laws, you simply couldn't go to the game. So they gave everyone an "opt out" for 2020 with no PSL loss.
This year they'll wait it out, and probably try to collect as much money as possible.....hoping to give a credit for 2022 if an opt out has to be offered based on the pandemic/State laws........
It's a sticky situation, the Giants can't make you buy tickets and attend during a pandemic...well, they can but it's not in their best interest.

I think that's what he wants. I mean if the PSL had any resale value maybe try and sell it, but it sounds like with small children he's not going to games and doesn't sound like he is selling tickets, at least not for a profit.
If he wants to go to a game he'll buy tickets on stub hub or wherever.
I think that's what he was saying. My concern is the state and Giants allowing fans but I MIGHT not feel safe to go back.My rep. recommended 4 payment plan as opposed to 6 payment plan because 1st pmt not due till May at which time they are hoping for more clarity on fans attending. 6 payment plan starts in March.

The giants almost always do right by the fans? On what planet?
The Giants and Jets built the worst new stadium in professional sports and had the fans pay for it.
They haven't done right by the fans in a long time when it comes to tickets.
Remember when they said the parking passes were only temporary while the new stadium was being built? Temporary became permanent real quick.
How about the fact that if I bring in a cargo trailer (5x10) I have to pay an extra 75 dollars or more. I can't remember exactly what it was in 2019 to bring it in, it may have been more than 75, on top of the parking pass.
They could never give me a reason why despite my trailer taking up just one extra space I had to pay the RV rate and couldnt just pay an extra 30 dollars.
So I started basically blocking the same amount of spaces an RV would take up and they bitched about that and I said if I'm paying the RV rate than I'm going to take up the same amount of space with my tailgate that an RV would.
Fuck them. The Giants have been a disaster when it comes to season ticket holders since the new stadium opened.
Bad nights sleep last night. Jeez. I have dealt with Giants for decades and they have ALWAYS been gracious and done the right thing. Anyone can nitpick and find fault with anyone. Including ME. WOW. Big picture pal.
there will almost certainly be a way to get out of it this year
The couple we have seats with called up because they we’re sure about windows to transfer psl. One week later we both upgraded to lower bowl and doubled down - so stupid. That said they incorporated your existing psl face value into new psl and made it payable over either 2 or 4 years. Then they canceled the season so total out of pocket ended up being the same. Still think it was a dumb move.
I actually called the ticket office a few weeks ago, and at this point, they think they will be able to safely fill the stadium.

I'd be shocked if it were full capacity.
I think if the stands aren't allowed full, they'll be an opt out for a credit in 2022.

just hang tight. Last year they didn't offer opt out until June.
